The woman I love is unsafe because of me. I’m the oldest son of a mafia boss. My father is one of the most dangerous men in the world. I’ve spent a good chunk of my life away from my family. And I vow to protect my daughter from any danger. But falling for her teacher wasn’t part of the plan. Deanna Blake… Her brown hair and perfect lips give me sleepless nights. She doesn’t know anything about my world… yet. But it’s only a matter of time until she finds out. She will need me to protect her from my father. I’d be damned if I let him as much as touch her. Deanna is mine to claim. And mine to keep… forever.
Omg what a read that was. This is my first book by these authors and they pulled out all the stops! I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book.
Royce is the eldest of the family born in to the mafia lifestyle he hates and wants no part of, looking after his daughter Whitney is his main priority that is until he meets Deanna his daughters elementary teacher. But his world will make her a target, will she want him when she finds out the truth and will his daughter accept her in their lives?!?
Deana is happy working as an elementary teacher and taking care of the grandparents that have looked after her and supported her through her life. But once she meets Royce she can’t deny the attraction. But can she survive in his world and can Royce really protect her and Whitney?
This is fantastically written gripping story, many twists and turns with dark undertones. Highly recommended.
This the second book in this series is Royce and Deanna's story I found it a bit tedious. These two meet when she becomes his daughters teacher and there is an obvious attraction between them which takes its own sweet time to develop. Eventually his father kidnaps her in an attempt to get the family wealth but is killed by Myles. Royce and Roger and their families move to London and supposedly leave the Mafia life behind but will that happen. This book resolves the issue of the Morretti Don but leaves Myles in charge which doesn't seem good, no doubt the next book will give more answers. Not the greatest read but okay.
Argh! I tried to come up with other ways to reflect my thoughts on this book, and they all seemed over-complicated. So, I am going to say it as I feel, and I am not trying to offend anyone who gave it five stars. This "mafia-style" book made me feel like I was reading soft porn; the acting attempts to be a little better than the hard-core and well you know the rest. It also had many attributes to soap operas (not for me) that made my head ache with all the drama of he-said-she-said. If you have never read a single mafia story, then this could appear to be the norm, but not the case for me, so I didn't enjoy the book at all.
This is the second book in the San Diego Mafia Kings Series. Royce is the eldest brother of the Moretti family and with his father missing he has to train his brother Myles to take over the family business. He wants out. He wants nothing more than raise his daughter Whitney. Whitney is just starting in grade four and keeping her safe is his number one priory. Deanna Blake is the fourth grade teacher and takes care of her aging grandparents. She becomes Whitney’s teacher after Whitney has a fight with someone from the other grade four class. Deanna finds herself attracted to Whitney’s father and cant get him off her mind. He finds the attraction mutual but is wondering if it will go anywhere once she knows who his family is.
This is a great contemporary romance between a mobster’s son and an elementary teacher. The differences in their backgrounds.is what makes the possibility of a romance unlikely. The amazing characters are well described with great background stories. The storyline is complex and includes action, danger, surprises in addition to the normal events couples go through trying to develop a relationship. It is an emotional rollercoaster as the characters experience the pleasant and traumatic situations that occur as the story continues. The narration is great and adds depth to the book. The steamy sexual scenes are well done adding to the story rather than detract from it. It is a great hot contemporary romance.

This is the first time I have read this author. The story is about Royce MorettI who family is the mafia.Royce has a daughter named Whitney aged 9 years old they where living in Bristol at the time with his ex wife Margot and he had to go back to San Diego to sort out family business. Deanna Blake is a teacher teaching fourth grade children who lives with her grandparents.her grandmother has a weak heart and suffers with anxiety attacks.Deanna does not have a social life because she is always worried about her grandparents. Royce gets called into school the second day because Whitney threw a boy over her shoulder judo style.Deanna walks into the principals office didn’t know that Royce and his daughter were in the office. Principal Torillo wanted to expell Whitney but deanna asked what happen and Whitney told her and she moves to deanna class. Deanna and Royce were attractived to each other.Royce and Deanna got close but he would not tell her about his life or family. Basically Royce wanted out of the family business and so did his other brother roger but the younger one named myles wanted the power. The story and the characters are really great in this book I don’t want to spoil but I recommend reading this book. Mafia maybe but she makes him her “good” guy especially in the bedroom What made this story about a “bad guy” so good was that Ms. Phillips and Black allowed Royce’s character to play off the sweet, innocent, naïve Deanna which gave us the opportunity to see his soft side. Loved the juxtaposition! Add in intrigue, jealousy half-truths and naughtiness…Wow, just WOW. Royce is a single father of precocious 9yo Whitney and together they have moved back to San Diego to take care of some “family” business. Seeing as how the “family” is mafia related this could get dangerous. After a playground altercation between Whitney and a boy in her class, Deanna suggests that Whitney come join her class of fourth graders and thus begins the attraction between Royce and Deanna. Loved their interactions, especially in chapter 6 ;-) their first night together. What happens when she discovers who Royce really is, not strictly the finance guy? They both have things to deal with. Royce has his “family” and an ex-wife while Deanna has her grandparents with whom she grew up. So many subplots to make this book even more entertaining. My book is bookmarked like crazy…so good! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it comes highly recommended.
Royce is a single father and is father is mafia which he wants out of. He takes his daughter Whitney to school and everyone is a little wary of him because of who he is except for Deanna. When Whitney is almost kicked out of school Deanna is the teacher that stands up for her and ends up taking her into her class. Sparks fly between her and Royce. However when she becomes involved with him she thinks he is a normal single dad and has no clue what he really is until she is in deep with him. Royce wants to move to London with his daughter and would like Deanna to go with them but her grandparents are a major part of her life. As they still need her she doesn't think she can pick up and go. When Royce's past comes back to haunt him will it cost him Deanna? Can they get away from his family?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is an intriguing mafia romance with a slightly dark undertone. The characters are well-developed with definite individual personalities and react with believable & realistic emotional feelings to the situations they find themselves in. The story-line and plot is well-thought out and written, it keeps the reader’s attention. There is: the oldest son (Royce Moretti) of a mafia boss (Deron Moretti), his daughter (Whitney), Whitney’s teacher (Deanna Blake), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, family issues, some action, danger, threats, some violence, suspicions, attractions, memories, discovery, paranoia, abduction, blackmail, compromises, guns blazing, declarations, love, contentment, some steam & a satisfying conclusion.
HOLY HOTNESS!!! OMG! Wow! One nailbiting, spine tingling, heart pounding, page turning thrill, that keeps you riveted on a razors edge until you forget everything else as you immerse yourself so deeply. All the drama, uncertainty, danger and suspense make for one spiraling experience. A churning eddy of events and activities draw all of your emotions forward in this fascinating storyline and explosive plot. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and bruises bring this baby together flawlessly. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it brings this bad boy bursting to life spectacularly. Amazing job guys, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Leaving the bad behind is hard. Finding Love is even harder with the life born into. Royce is the first born of the Mafia Boss. He wants nothing to do with it. Deanna is a elementary school teacher trying to take care of her grandparents that raised her. Royce daughter goes to the same school. They talk and they start having feelings. What will happen if she finds out who his family is? Can his daughter accept him with someone other then her mother? Can he keep her safe from his other life? Can he leave the family business?

Royce, the son of a mafia boss, wants nothing to do with the mafia and just wants to raise his daughter Whitney without violence. Deanna is Whitney's teacher and has caught the eye of Royce. Loved the chemistry between Deanna and Royce and how protective Royce is over both Whitney and Deanna. I loved that Royce's character was nothing like his father. This book has it all violence, family drama, suspense, intrigue, steam and some unexpected twists that pulled me into the story. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This is the second book in this thrilling mafia series, and is Royce and Deanna’s story. Royce is a single dad of a daughter, and they move for family business. Deanna is his daughters’ teacher, and the last person he wanted to be attracted to. This is a well written story with complex characters and plot, as well as being a gritty, intriguing, intense, emotional, and steamy read as well as having twists, drama, and jealousy, which all had me totally captivated throughout. I look forward to reading more from these talented authors, and recommend their work for all.
Very intriguing read with danger, surprises, twists and turns, emotional situations, adventure and so much more. You have a sweet young girl, her teacher and her father. Her father is a big part of the mafia under his father. He wants the teacher and wants to protect them both but how do you do that when you have such an underworld organization as that? I recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Ok where do i start, first definitely a twist to your typical mafia romances. There are a lot of things that are unexpected like Royce not being JUST the typical mafia boss's son!!!! Make sure you go into this book with an open mind because there are a lot of twists and turns that like to challenge your preconceived notions

I really loved listening to this book. Royce and Deanna’s story is beautiful. I love that there are both family oriented and will do what it takes to make sure they are safe. I also love how bold Deanna is, especially when it comes to Royce. She had that shy, innocence personality that seems to keep Royce on his toes. Most of all I love how Royce is able to read her and gives her the space she needs a time. Above all I love how he wants the best for his daughter.

Fast-paced steamy mafia read. Royce’s family is in the mafia but doesn’t want to be. When he goes to his daughter’s school, he meets Deanna and sparks fly. Royce’s father kidnaps her to get what he wants. Can he get her back and keep her safe? Lots of drama, great characters and plenty of drama. I really liked it.
This was a very enjoyable read. This book offers a well written, engaging storyline that is filled with lots of suspense, drama, twists and intense emotions. The characters were interesting, they had great chemistry and shared a complicated relationship. This is my voluntary, honest review.
This well-written storyline is a little dark, with plenty of hotness, intrigue, drama, and danger. The characters are defined, opposites but mesh well. Very good, entertaining read. I liked it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
