They looked like the perfect family.

Perfect couple with their perfect kids.

Perfect darkness lurking within.

Day One of her new job and psychic witch Charlie Payne is already in danger. When she and her team are called in to investigate the disappearance of the Cochran family from their home it looks like a straightforward demon abduction. Only there's never anything straightforward about dealing with a demon and Charlie knows it. How did such a nice family end up with a house covered in demon dust? And what did the demon do with them?

Add to that a new partner she's not sure she trusts, a teenage son itching to dive into the family business, an old partner who isn't quite ready to let her go, and an argument with her cousins and Charlie has her hands full.

Dealing with a demon might just be the easiest part of her day. Dealing with her family is a whole other matter.

Natural Born Witch is the eighth book in the Witches of Palmetto Point series. If you like books filled with supernatural suspense that includes, ghosts, reapers, demons, psychics, and witches then you'll love this series. Pick up your copy today and buckle into this addictive ride, because once you start reading you won't put it down.

These Books are AWESOME!!!!

Holy ghosts! And demons and chicken ghosts!! I read all 8 books in 5 days!! Charlie, Jen, Lisa, Daphne, Evangeline, Jason, Scott, Evan, Tom, Joy and Ben are one hell of a team. I can't wait for book 9!!
If you haven't read book 1, be prepared! They're like potato chips... you can't stop at just one!!

I love the series so far, but this book stands out as less : less coherent, less thrilling, less fun.
I would like Charlie to learn from her past mistakes instead of needing saving constantly by acting arrogant or stupid.
I'm still going to read the other ones but I'm a bit disappointed by this one.

Thrilling from start to finish. Lots of changes in this 8th outing in the series.. Charlie starts her new job with the Defenders of Light which introduces new characters. Her first case with the team, finding out what happened to a family who just vanished into thin air. All signs point to a demon.

This series has had such growth in both the characters and the stories. I can't wait to get more.

Wonderful series; the characters are full and the story is fast paced enough that you don't want to put the book down but just slow enough to build good suspense. Typically at this point in a series I'm ready to read something else and take a break but not this one! On to the next.

So much thrills and excitement!

I am loving seeing Charlie and Tom’s bond grow. Also nice to see Charlie in a job where she has the resources to do so much good with her gift and to be praised and respected for her abilities instead of being scorned. Not as much family dynamics in this book as I would have liked but it was nice to read about her son, Evan, delving into his own natural born abilities.

Not bad - Spoiler Alert

I do like the series, it's free and there's some good mystery elements to it. I always love a good ghost story. I will probably continue reading it but there are some major problems with it that annoy me.

I was really looking forward to this book because it has Charlie's first case with the DOL. She doesn't even get 5 minutes into investigating her first case before she gets struck by a reaper's blade and is now dying. She basically spends the entire book in the hospital and everyone else has to rush to find a way to save her. I'm honestly not a big fan of Charlie in the first place, she's always the damsel in distress in every book. It gets a little annoying when she's continuously attacked but still has not figured out any way to defend herself nor has she seemed to learn how to use any of even the most basic witch powers.

I'm from the South and another problem with this series is the way these people eat and talk. I realize the author is trying to immerse us in their world but not everyone in the south uses y'all and ma'am to the extent that these characters do. There are some places where it's completely unnecessary. We do love our fried foods but if we ate like the people in this book we would be 400 lbs.

We also don't need the author to describe every single thing they do step by step. It's like she's writing an essay in college and is adding unnecessary words to meet the word count.

Another entertaining entry in the series

This is one of the best entries in this series, in my opinion. I read the first 6 books in Witches of Palmetto Point in rapid succession, but took a break & read several other books before starting this one. I think it was the ideal book to pick back up on. It was quite action packed & introduced some new characters, as well as gathering all of the supporting cast to help when Charlie finds herself in trouble. I also really liked the parts from Evan's POV. I think it will be interesting to see where his character arc takes him, as a young teenage witch just exploring his powers. Will is an intriguing new character who brings more opportunity for delving deeper into this magical world, since we now know that vampires & werewolves are a possibility as well. I was going to rate this 4½ stars but I took half a star off because this book could've used a good editor. There were a lot of tiny grammatical mistakes, mostly with punctuation. Periods where there should have been question marks, commas & periods side by side, that type of thing. Additionally, there were several instances of the wrong word being used, like "in" instead of "on;" "if" instead of "of;" & also words occasionally left out (i.e. "He got in car" instead of "He got in THE car") or transposed. These were small errors that were easy to overlook, but I did feel there were a lot of them especially compared to the earlier books. Overall, I am glad I picked this book up & am anxious to continue with this fun, entertaining series!

Enjoyed the story.

Ok...I have had some time to gather my thoughts. I really did enjoy the story. From page one I was invested. A friend turned me onto this series and I’m so grateful. I love Charlie and her family. I love where it’s heading with her joining the DOL. I may not love her love interest but the surrounding male characters are awesome and I do love that they are so close and have her back. Like I said...so enjoyed. I’m looking forward to the next book.

That being said from the moment I downloaded I had issues, I pre-ordered and received a copy missing chapters. And the drama I had to go through to get the correct copy was a nightmare. Shame on Amazon. That being said...even the ‘corrected’ copy had so many typos, missing words, sentences that you had to infer the meaning because it was that bad. And I’m usually not that hyper sensitive to some mistakes but these were blatant. I’m thinking I should become a proofreader! 😎

I can't wait for the next book

Okay so l am happy Evan was in this book more and he has a love interest. I can't wait to see his powers develop. Charlie kinda got airlines in this book witch was good because it let us readers get to know some of the characters and let them show is their magic. I am in love with all the chat on this series and will continue to read this series as long as they are here. I am hoping Charlie will stay with her new job, and we get to see some cool cases. I also hope we get see Evan explore his magic and love life. I am also happy that Joy had a part in this book, usually we only hear about Tom. By the way I love the little snippet about Tom wishing he was a real boy!!! This series has tons of life left in it and I for one am excited to see what happens.

Charlie has started her new job at the Defenders of Light but it doesn't take long for her to get into serious trouble. It will take her family of witches, friends both dead and alive to bring her from the brink in this exciting, fast moving story.

While the new team is trying to find demons connected with the killing of a family, Charlie is nicked by a reaper's scythe which is deadly to humans. The story involves a stolen reaper's book and a demon who can possess anyone and does.

While Charlie is trying to stay alive, her son wants to try his hand at his first magic spell, and may attempt it without adult supervision. This could be dangerous, unless some wise witches are paying attention. Another good page turner!

Amazing read

This was an outstanding addition to the series. I love the fantastic characters and the plots just keep getting better. It amazes me how even at book 8 the author puts Charlie and company into a new intriguing adventure every time. I really liked that this book came with the perspective of other characters. Though I like Charlie's character and perspective the most it was nice to have different aspects. Absolutely loved Evan's character growth. Can't wait for the next one!

Wendy Wang has done it again. Pulled all the characters together in an effort to save Charlie's life. Sure there are suspecious ideas in some minds but the actions outweigh throughout and

All enfolds in an exciting ending. I love the Charlie stories and hope Wendy continued to keep on writing them. I've recommended Wendy's books to others who tell me they too find Charlie a delightful tale. The reader will stumble across some type Os and missing words that are distracting but just keep on reading!

Another Awesome Book!!!

I have this book 5 stars because this book was a treasure to read. This book had me on the edge of my seat! I was so scared for Charlie and her family! I also loved to see Evan coming into his magic, and witness his first kiss! The kid is growing up! But I'm glad that they were able to save Charlie. I was feeling every emotion a person could have while reading this book! That's why I have it 5 stars! I wasn't disappointed in the least! Thank you, Wendy!!!

Charlie Payne is knocking on deaths door

I chose the high rating for this book because it is filed with suspense and surprises. Charlie is cut by a dealer who spaghetti the hospital at the DOL and she was on the verge of dying when her cousins and her friend Tom try to save her from the from dealer of death. Charlie's son gets involved with trying to become a witch and cast a spell to win a basketball game at school but things change. I liked this book and can't wait for the next one.
Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.

What you expect

How’s the cat doing with the chicken? Some aspects of these books seem silly. I mean a reaper can’t feel her own book, at least in proximity. Why would beings that can teleport need to be “on there way”. The non reapers went to the boathouse to get the book, only to have to go get Joy, who could have went with in the first place. An organization full of witches and they don’t think to send a necromancer to find bodies. The characters just come off looking stupid. I like these books overall but I also roll my eyes at them a lot.

I am a huge fan of this series and while this was a good book, it wasn't as good as the previous one.
On the plus side: We learn more about the reapers and Charlie's future, but on the downside, this book lacks coherence.
I think one of the main reasons for that is "too many pots on the fire". New job, new partner, old partner, ex-husband, boyfriend and son, old partner, family... On top, the case was jumbled, we had many different point of views and the ending was a bit lacklustre.
I will definitely continue the series, but this book just wasn't one of her best.

Charlie takes quite the trip in this story! I didn't like that a big part of the story had her clinging on to life support, so to speak but it allowed some of the other characters to come into their own, like her colleague Will as well as Ben. Evan is getting his witch legs slowly and Wang seemed to hint that perhaps there will be some teenage rebellion happening later on, though he does love his mom and was very much there for her when she needed him. Tom and Charlie's romance didn't make any strides in this story so hoping for a little more in the next one!

A quick read

In Book 8 of this series, Charlie is starting her new job with the DOL. We have new characters to meet and a new mystery to solve. Only there might be something more wicked going on behind the scenes. The book was a fast read, but I did find a huge number of editing mistakes that sometimes throw me off my reading flow. I am interested to see how Evan is going to develop his skills in the books to come and to get to know the new characters that Charlie is working with better. Overall, it's a good read. Highly recommend

Wendy Wang has put done herself with this book ! Amazing reading

Wow what an absolutely amazing adventure with characters that are like old friends. Charlie really got herself in deadly trouble with a reaper this time but with family friends and loved ones it all worked out in the end. Wendy's books are so well written it's like watching a movie in your head while reading! Can't wait for the next book! Loved the new characters and the expanded storyline with Evan

Love this series

Would normally give a 5 stars as this series keeps me coming back for more but this book was very confusing. When everyone set off to look for Gerald I didn’t even know who that was but 2 chapters later I found out when they started to suspect him. I know this book was pushed back for editing and we were told about punctuation errors but having the chapters out of order was very confusing. I’m looking forward to book 9. Thank you Wendy for a great story.

Mesmerizing Plot

I was hooked on the Witches of Palmetto Point series after reading the bundle of books 1-6. The stories are intriguing and the cast of characters are well-developed. While this book was an equally fun read, a few errors interrupted the flow. Although they were minor (Ethan’s basketball game was scheduled for Friday in one chapter then on Saturday in later chapters), they detracted from the story. Did this book have a different editor or new proofreaders?

Good book

I loved the story. It drew me in and I didn't come back out until the ending. Charlie got sliced by a reapers blade and was in a coma. But, the only way she could come back is from a spell that was in the reapers book, which unfortunately was stolen by a demon possessing a mans body. Good times! Great storyline and amazing characters. Really had a great time reading this.

One of the best in the series

Every book in this series has knocked it out of the park but I think this has been my favorite. Not because the star almost died but the suspense and twists and turns we're pretty much on every page. I flew through this book. Can't wait to see what's up next for Charlie and the gang. I am glad that Evan is being treated more like a teenager than a 5 year old though.

Great stories, terrible editing!

The author is a great storyteller, but needs an editor. There are so many misplaced commas, plot errors and misspelled words, it is hard to read. I started highlighting and reporting g the errors but soon grew tired of it. I have finished all books up to this point. I love the stories and the characters, but the errors are cringe worthy. I had to go with 3 stars

Another home run

It’s good to see the characters back in action just wished there was more of the relationships being built in this addition. We learned nothing new about the family, and nothing good came of anything in this book. But I am waiting on the edge of my seat for the next chapter.

Fast paced and very exciting!!

This is a fantastic series! Full of drama and a
real page turner. Couldn't put it down for long.
Lost a lot of sleep with this one. Characters were
great and it had a really intense story line. Some
twists and turns. A great addition to this series.
