Seizing the Tiger
A collection of stories about Alex the Pirate and his savvy crew of rogues and thieves. They are modern pirates who love fast boats and expensive yachts, and also share a passion for treasure hunting. Alex and Diego, his second in command, scout the South China Sea and Caribbean for worthy ships to liberate from their owners and turn a profit. Each story reveals more about the pirate, his crew, their adventures, and secret missions.

1996 Early in their careers Alex and Diego team up to smuggle refugees and contraband across the Gulf of Thailand in their small boat, the Cat. They are hijacked at sea by a notorious pirate. They vow revenge and recover their lost cargo the hard way; they steal it back, guns blazing. They gain a more powerful boat, the Tiger.

Fun short with action!

I really enjoyed this quick read with these adventurous and mostly honorable modern day pirates.
Alex and Diego are truly partners in crime, as they do their level best to make some money smuggling goods over international borders. They're engaging characters, extremely believable and likeable. There's even a little bit of romance, too.
I especially appreciated the lack of gratuitous gore and violence - quite an accomplishment! Firefights, hand to hand combat, but not too much, along with understandable motivations, make for some people you'll want to share more exploits with.
Great fun!
