As I get close to the end of the year and I reflect on what books have had the biggest impact on my life I end up having to come back to this one. As surprising as it may seem, especially based on my review, I have used RELOC more times this year than anything else I can think of. I use it in social settings constantly. Any time I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable I think in my head, "RELOC" and it always puts me in a better space. I guess the universe loves to make a joke of me and gave me one of the best pieces of advice from one of the books I rated the lowest. Whatever, RELOC has been very helpful and I felt compelled to edit my review.

This book was pretty much a joke to read. There is one thing that I got from the book that was actually pretty good. It was called RELOC. It stands for Relaxed, Excited, Lively, Open, Confident. It’s a mental checklist you should give yourself before walking into social settings. This book makes a lot of statements that just “seem” to be true. It’s a mash of a lot of advice. This book might help you get more energy but it probably won’t. Don't read it.

This is a good book with lots of good advice and tips but there are a few things that let it down.

Firstly, and probably most importantly, this book could really benefit from a good editor. It’s obvious on reading it that English is not the auhtor’s first language as there are a lot of grammatical mistakes such a using “the” when it should be “a” or vice versa.

Secondly, the book is very repetitive. That helps things to stick with you, but it could be a lot shorter a book without losing any beneficial content.

There are unsubstantiated statistics in the book, for example it says “living in a present moment” (when it should be “the”) boosts happiness by 11%. There is no reference from where this figure came from. It says each pound lost will increase your energy by 2%. There is no reference for this either.

The book discusses a lot of aspects of health and how they effect energy levels. Getting enough sleep, being active, eating nuturious food and being a healthy weight all contribute to energy levels. The book mentions weight loss a lot. It does briefly say that anything taken to excess is bad for you and some people lose too much weight which can negatively impact on energy. He mentions “maintaining healthy weight” when it should be “maintaining a healthy weight,” but at the checklist at the end for things to do for energy it says to lose weight, rather than mainatain a healthy weight.

The author says sex with a spouse can help energy levels. Whilst I agree that sex is healthy and can boost energy levels I find the whole “with a spouse”part unnecessary and condescending. He also repeated “with a spouse” every single time he mentioned sex rather than specifying that the first time and just saying sex later on. This is an example of the repetitiveness and where an editor could help.

Some things aren’t explained properly. For example he recommends you do a Myers-Briggs personality test but doesn’t really discuss it properly. I feel the book could benefit from an explanation of it. Luckily, I already know about it, but you can’t assume every reader will. He also mentions a morning exercise called Radio Taiso which can be found on YouTube apparently, but he doesn’t explain what this is and I’d never heard of it before.

There are a lot of good questions to think about to help you discover your passion and vocation as working on something your passionate about will help with energy levels.

Overall, it’s a decent read but it could have been a lot better. I was expecting more practical tips.

I usually avoid such titles and books like the plague but it kept popping on my homepage and given how I do lack energy most of the time, I thought of giving it a try.

It had the same problem that most self-help books have. This one more than others. It's written from a biased, self-involved perspective of the author, his personality, and his background. He blatantly ignored the possibility that his readers might be from different personal and professional background, from different culture, with a different mentality, or even have different gender (he kept saying "your wife" instead of "your spouse" and "sex with spouse" instead of just "sex"). He assumes all of his readers are either married or should be married. Here is a quote from the book: "To build a long-lasting happiness and to raise the average level of energy, it’s important to have a fulfilling marriage." There are also a lot of grammatical errors and repetition of sentences, sometimes in the same paragraph.

There were a couple of some unique ideas but everything else could have been searched on Google.

This week have been printed ebook week. This is another 80 pages ebook that Amazon offers as a printed edition for people who don't want digital versions.

The book contains a small list of things that help people increase their energy level, how energetic they feel. As far as i can tell there is reasonable science supporting the majority of his points, but the author is very economical with proper citations and references, which would give his work a bit more credibility.

The ebook goes through 10 different topics, which include setting goals, exercising, eating healthy, smiling and knowing yourself.

It's an interesting collection of ideas, that i feel needs to be expanded on - more content on the existing topics, not more topics.

Spoiler: doesn't matter what the title says, this is not really a stay in your couch and get pumped up kind of system. Probably no system worth anyone's time is, but hey...

Great book for Lazy People

This book right here is excellent for people that can't manage to get fairly any energy from there body to do anything. This book is great on explaining how to practice morning routines, exercise , how to lose weight , because all these things come in to play when you lack energy . Great book to better your state of health in general. I would recommend this book to people that feel like they don't have that motivation to do the stuff they need to do or just for your health's sake . Get this book now .

This book is very affordable as a kindle read and I enjoyed it very much. I got several AHA's from this one. The only thing I didn't like was the section about weight loss and how you will increase your energy if you lose weight. That is a very general statement. I was reading this book as someone who's been underweight all her life. So I won't take the diet advice into consideration ;) but besides that, a good book to get out of coach potato mode.

I found this book inspirational. If readers follow just one of the suggestions in this book, quality of life is sure to improve. I enjoyed the way the author presented each suggested positive change in connection to the others. I have been meaning to exercise more, and this book gave me the push I needed to begin doing that. I did not feel hectored or condescended to in this book, but rather uplifted. A good source for positive life changes.

This is a short, but powerful read containing great advice for anyone feeling tired, burned out or unmotivated.

I loved the authors writing style. There was no fluff, just practical advice covering all areas of energy from sleep and mental fortitude, to healthy eating, to social connection.

There's nothing ground breaking here, but the book provides good reminders to anyone on how to reduce stress levels, be healthier and ultimately, have more energy to live your best life.

Some ideas are the typical Self-help book ones (Exercise, sleep, eat well) but there's also really nice original content (The 150 wishes idea, for example). It is also a very friendly book, explains everything in a simple language even it uses references to important experiments (I look them up). 😊

Reparative and nothing new

A few know. ideas and methods collated and delivered quite simply but quite repetitively (same sentences repeated within paragraphs) almost too basic and unfortunately just felt like reading an A-level paper/regurgitation. The writing didn’t really fit expectation after reading the bio of the author.

Buy it on sale!

Really, really could have used an editor but I still found it a bit helpful and motivating. I wouldn't pay more than $3 for it though

This book was a snore

Everything in this book I already know. Every other book about energy says the same thing. I didn't learn anything new

A great and useful book! I read this book twice and took lots of notes. I start to apply some rules from this book and they really work! This book works for both lazy people and people who are not that lazy but looking for changes.

A few great and new ideas, great didactic method

I don’t know what he does right. He showed me few ideas that I didn’t already know (and those were great and worth the book) but somehow the teaching went deeper into my heart and mind. Well done.
