About the author

Hermann was born in 1938 in Bévercé (now a part of Malmedy) in Liège Province. After studying to become a furniture maker and working as interior architect, Hermann made his debut as comic book artist in 1964 in the comics magazine Spirou with a four page story. Greg noticed his talent and offered him to work for his studio. In 1966, he began illustrating the Bernard Prince series written by Greg, published in the comic magazine Tintin periodical. In 1969, also in collaboration with Greg, he began the western series Comanche. This appeared at the same time as other western series such as Blueberry.
Hermann began writing his own stories in 1977, starting the post-apocalyptic Jeremiah series, which is still produced today. In the same period, he also made three albums of Nick, inspired by Little Nemo in Slumberland, for Spirou.[1] In 1983 he began a new series, Les Tours de Bois-Maury, which is set in the Middle Ages and is less focused on action than his other works.
Hermann has also created many non-series graphic novels sometimes together with his son Yves H. One of them, Lune de Guerre, with a story by Jean Van Hamme, was later filmed as The Wedding Party by Dominique Deruddere.[2]
Hermann was characterized by a realistic style and stories that are both somber and angry, with a sense of disillusion with regards to the human character in general, and current society more specifically.

Le quatrième tome des Tours de Bois-Maury voit progresser l'avancée de la petite troupe d'Aymar sur les chemins de Saint-Jacques, auquel s'ajoute un croisé allemand. Une suite plaisante et toujours conforme à l'Histoire !

Eiköhän tämä riitä minulle tästä sarjasta. En vain syty tälle tarpeeksi, että jaksaisin lukea näitä niin moneen kertaan, että saisin kaikki tarinan palaset loksahtamaan kohdilleen.

Tyylikkäästi piirrettyä keskiaikasarjakuvaa, jatkuvasta juonesta on vain vaikea saada tolkkua.

Synkempi ja mystisempi kuin aiemmat osat, mutta tykkäsin ehkä enemmän. Jotenkin mieleenpainuvampi, vaikka muutkin oli hyviä.

El Caballero Aymar sigue en su viaje escoltando a un mercader y a su esposa en el camino a Santiago, cuando tres jinetes misteriosos los pasan a toda velocidad, uno de ello lleva una cruz sobre sus ropajes, un cruzado. Al seguir el camino, estos libran una batalla contra unos asesinos que logran emboscarlos en un puente, al llegar el caballero de Bois-Maury y su escudero ayudan al cruzado. El es Reindhart, caballero aleman heredero de un reino cercano, el cual busca llegar a sus tierras, donde uno de sus hermanos de temperamento tibio planea su muerte junto con su consejero.
El arte es muy bueno, superior al volumen 3, y la historia tiene ese elemento fantastico que me engancho enseguida, Hermann me sigue sorprendiendo con buenas historias y gran arte.

Retour au premier plan d'Aymar et Olivier, et nouveau personnage secondaire que l'on reverra : Reinhardt.

Reinhardt, chevalier allemand orgueilleux, brave mais aussi stupide et méprisant va croiser la route de nos héros, qui devront choisir entre un comportement raisonnable garant de sûreté pour leurs vies et un comportement honorable pouvant les mener à leur perte.

Album un ton en dessous des précédents (surtout Germain), mais de bon niveau tout de même. Je chipote.
