This was an electrifying book to read, turning decades of malinformation on its head as we realize that Jandammara, and the Bunuba people, were not criminals resisting white settlement in the Kimberleys in the 1800s - but were fighting for their lives. I love John Nicholson's writing on so many topics, as it's informative, to-the-point, and accessible to young and old. In this case, the retelling of Jandamarra's story was apparently authorised by the Bunuba people.
