This award winning series has been specifically designed for babies. A great introduction to books through well-known nursery rhymes and interactive text. Singing songs and rhymes is the perfect way to bond with your baby and share quality time. It also aids language development by introducing them to the natural sounds and patterns of speech. Combining these with actions also stimulates the brain and helps muscle development.
The classic song once performed (badly, as always!) by William Shatner and his buds in a nice film called Star Trek V (and sad as I am to relate, I like that movie, and if you feel my pain, share it with me) is now a board book by Annie Kubler which gives back the dignity that Shatner kinda took from it. And yes the book celebrates the diversity in ways Star Trek never did. (Take THAT, Trekkies!) You may know the classics, but do you know Row Row Row your Boat? Kubler will show you! As for life being but a dream...let the dream be pleasant. (It will be cos Shatner will NOT row our boat. Boom!) Four stars Row this boat down your stream into your ebook device today!
Such cute illustrations! I love board books featuring diverse children and this one does that well. This is also a fun one to get tots moving (and, if you want, singing and shouting along) to.
This was funny to listen to as my boss was trying to read it. She kept slipping back into the first verse. She claims she never knew there was more than one. 😂
Beautiful illustrations with lots of vibrant colour to accompany this popular song. Really fun to sing-a-long with babies. Sheet music is also included at the back of the book.
This collection of books from Child's Play is so much fun. These are exactly what we are looking for right now to play with and enrich AppleBlossom. We started in Babygarten reading some activity books with numbers and colors and singing nursery rhymes. Now at home we're trying to incorporate that into our every day play. These board books are perfect for that. I love how they are musical and have the notes available if you want to play along (oh how I miss the piano!). In an effort to find more I was unable to get the US Child's Play website, but I was able to find lots on the AU website. It seems that Child's Play has a great collection of Board Books for baby and Preschool. I'll definitely be looking at some of their newer titles.
Natalie's been into singing this one lately. It was very cool the first time I figured out she was singing "Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily (babble) dream." We had read a bunch of board books like this one, and she didn't show any interest. So, I was very happy when she asked to hear this one several times in a row. I like that it is also the longer version of the song, which I didn't know existed until we started going to story time. Natalie will usually scream and roar for the crocodile and lion. The illustrations are of babies playing to the rhyme, including the rocking motion we do at story time for the first verse.
With large-sized figures of youngsters enjoying themselves, this board book, part of the Baby Rhyme Time, contains the words to the classic "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." The characters are diverse, and all seem to have smiles on their faces as they play. The music with lyrics and notes is included on the back cover for anyone who would like to try playing the song on the instrument of their choice. Caregivers who aren't sure what to read or share with their youngsters will find this one helpful and easy to share.
I have to give this book 5 stars because I can see how much joy it brings to my one year old. She has already begun saying "Row Row Row your boat" and something that sounds like "Merrily" because we sing/read this story daily to her. At the end she claps and giggles, who could ask for more?
A small board book great for Story Times with very young kids. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is just because I wish it had a couple more of rhymes. It would then be perfect. The illustrations are so cute!
All of Annie Kubler's board books are wonderful additions to any collection. These are nursery action rhymes that have been made into board books. Great for incorporating more singing and playing into your storytimes.
Incredibly simple, incredibly adorable and incredibly affective little board book for toddlers. This jolly book illustrates the song beautifully. My little grandson could not get enough of this book - lovely!
The famous children's tune "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" gets the "Child's Play" book makeover. The illustrations are subpar but there is no denying that there is a certain amount of fun to be had for young children (toddlers) as they sing along to the song.
