The book was only alright for the first half. I think the only reason I got it was having prior experience with Linear algebra. Things fall apart once things get abstract. How concepts are presented was not clear. I wish there was a solutions manual as the exercises have the same problem. Even once I understand the problem, I still don't see how they got to the answer they did trying numerous approaches (this is usually the problems that require calculus). I self study and once again putting this on the shelf (second time) and trying again later from where I left off. I'm almost done with the book by Anton which is vastly superior as an elementary text.
