I picked this up off the library shelf--it's definitely older, but I enjoyed learning about the details of clothes worn during certain historic eras (and the world events causing clashes of cultures, etc). Kid's nonfiction is the best because it gives you a great overview of information and has lots of visual elements!

As a person who has had an interest in costuming and clothing of the medieval times since a brief involvment with the SCA in college I was very amused by this book. It covers various clothing styles and the countries that wore them. The illustrations were very good, and the facts were presented in a very clear manner.

An excellent introduction to the Middle Ages. I would recommend this for about the 4th grade audience as a way to introduce ideas about the time period, the people, and how we research the past.

I really LOVED that the book covers people all over the world from South America to Africa to Japan in Middle Ages, not just covering the usual English history and calling that the entirety of the time period. Well done. :-)
