“Directing is something of a performance, but the director cannot afford tantrums, and must never be out of control: this may mean a valiant display of pleasure at an indifferent rehearsal, or deliberately being demanding or critical to produce the right response.” page 158

I don't remember a lot else about this book, which I read while rehearsing in 2012 a musical I'd written, which was being directed by someone who didn't want to direct the script that was written...and then had eruptions if anyone questioned this...

However, I seem to recall that this was a valuable book, written in short useful sections...
