Review: This book has a lot of different information. It talks about the culture, past, and things that have changed. It has so much information that a student reading this could learn a lot. It’s interesting to read and has a lot of example pictures to go along.

This book is perfect for kindergarten/1st grade readers. The language is simple and it held my son's attention easily. It was a great introduction to the Chinese culture as it touched on various aspects ranging from famous crafts to food to religion.

I also liked the links at the end of the book to learn more about China including learning to say phrases in Mandarin, watching a video about Great Pandas, finding out what your zodiac sign is, and playing some computer games to learn more about the Chinese New Year. We did all of these activities and they were really fun!

The illustrations are nice, but what I wish this book had was more photographs of actual things (real Chinese china vs. an illustrated depiction). (At least they had an actual photograph of the Terra Cotta Soldiers!)

Anyway, we really enjoyed this book and it's been a great launching point into our study of China.

This book about China was very informational! But it made learning all the information about China fun, with many pictures. The vocab in the book was easy to understand and follow.
