Swept off her kitten heels, Heather can't help but accept the proposal of the man with whom she's fallen in love. She hopes that in time he'll come to feel something for her. Curtis is determined not to feel anything, for anyone, ever. He'll do anything Heather wants but he's not going to fall in love with her. Except that will never do for a girl with a Cinderella Complex
By day, USA Today Bestselling author Jenna Bayley-Burke is faster than a speeding toddler, stronger than a stubborn husband, able to leap tall Lego structures in a single bound...but by night, while the family sleeps she writes romance novels where no one ever has to scoop up after the dog, change diapers, clip coupons, drive carpool, do laundry, mop floors, get silly putty out of hair, vacuum, empty the vacuum bag (gross!), exercise, count calories, apply bandaids, clean up puke...wait where was this going? Oh, Jenna writes romance because it is glamorous. Just ask the dog.
Another sort of fluffy-bunny book. She's a temp for a guy who runs off his assistants usually before lunch. Of course she ends up with him eating out of her hand... you know the drill. Nothing unusual or earth shattering here, but it's another easy, mindless read. Sometimes its nice to be able to read without your brain being fully engaged.
Having read my first Jenna Bayle-Burke book, Compromising Position, I had such high expectations for this book but was sorely disappointed.
Executive Assistant Robyn Tindall falls in love with boss, Curtis Frye. Fortunately for her, he proposes a fake engagement which she accepts. She tries to renege on the arrangement when she realises he isn't in love with her and doesn't to be.
The plot didn't hang together giving the sense that some pages were missing. I found the characters boring.
This book has since been updated, expanded and published as The Billionaire's Runaway Fiancee which should hopefully be a huge improvement.

so far this is my fave story from Jenna Bayley-Burke. I think is the straight honesty between the characters from the start, these two talk and work things out. He is a damage alpha male, and I'm a sucker for those, so maybe that is why I like this one so much. And also different than the other books this one actually has a well thought out ending, not an abrupt one.
It started interesting enough for the first 25% of the book. But turned downhill from there. The dialogs were boring and the heroine was just annoying. Very disappointed, I very much wanted to love Ms Burke..
This was an okay book but very predictable. It also felt very rushed. Instead of taking time and letting feelings and emotions play themselves out, the characters moved from one thing to the next too quickly.
This was more or less ok story. However, what completely disappointed me is that I already read an almost identical book by Jane Porter published a couple of years earlier as Harlequin. And as if plagiarism wasn't enough, this Cinderella aspect here is way overdone...
This book was okay. The story was kind of interesting but the characters where never developed and a lot of the main issues they had never really got answers.
Too Harlequin-ish for me-I haven't been in that neighborhood since high school, and it wasn't a great trip down memory lane. It did make me appreciate the authors I love now even more.
