About the author

Edwards began writing romances in 1982 and released her 100th novel, Savage Skies, on August 28, 2007. Although her earlier books were classic historical romances, the vast majority of her novels involve Native American tribes. Edwards's grandmother was a full-blooded Cheyenne. Her first 99 books sold a combined 10 million copies as of August 2007, with her more recent novels averaging sales of 250,000–350,000 copies.

Edwards has won the Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Award and the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award, as well as being named one of Affaire de Coeur's top ten favorite romance writers. Edwards has a reputation for meticulously researching the proper anthropological backgrounds of each tribe she writes about.

Edwards and her husband Charles, a retired high school biology teacher, have been married for over 50 years. They have two sons, Charles and Brian, and three grandchildren. The family lived in St. Louis, Missouri for over thirty years, but now reside in Mattoon, Illinois.

I really liked this book. It probably should be a 3.5 but I'll round up. I have to say though that I hate the cover. Definitely one of those cheesy bodice ripping kind. Especially when Wind Walker is never portrayed with his shirt off in the book.

I usually don't like to comment/rehash the story (because then why would you want to read the book) but I do have to say that I loved what Maggie and Wind Walker name the baby at the end: Dancing Wind. Is that cool or what?!

Okay, this isn't going to compare with the world's best literature but I enjoyed the book. It was a "goodread".

This is a quick read and is the story of Maggie Tolan and takes place in the later 1800's. The author has taken a look into the old west and the struggles families faced and combined it with romance and adventure. Although s fairly simple read, I think the author did a great job with the feel of the times when Native Americans and others were trying to find peace and finding it not as easy as they hoped. Good job on this story

This was the whole reason I started reading this series.
A long time ago Mom was a young teen who liked romance books, and went to the library for one of the first times to see if she could find romance books to check out. She ended up in the large print section and checked out this book. As all of you know how romance covers go, you would be shocked to know how unsuspecting this cover was. Anyway mom got home and a read it. She liked the book, but did not go gag over this book. Mom however a good hand full of years later mom got a hankering for this book and went back to go find it. Libraries are always getting read of books to make room for new books on the shelf. Sadly this was one of the books, and it took mom much longer to find. Finally she found it, and found out it was part of the whole series; so she set out read the whole series.
Mom loved this book and it hits all the nostalgia goodness for her. Again Cassie Edwards seeks to have shifted her writing again. The plot is still kept jointed, but it felt like the love making senses were way turned down in this book. Mom does not mind at all; it was just something that seemed to make up a lot of that book.
Over all this book was worth the find and this is definitely going on kom’s keeper shelf.

I had read this book out of curiosity. I liked the story because of the drama and romance. I thought the novel was slow at times. It was okay but not a favorite.

I love Native American romance. When I came across Cassie Edwards, I was exited at the thought of finding a new favorite author.

Not so, I'm afraid.

This might be a good story, but I simply cannot get over the dull, ponderous, slow writing style. I don't think I've ever been so bored by the opening pages of a book.

I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get through it. It was like wading though some stickly substance.

This is only one person's opinion. Tastes differ. Other readers might love the writing.

This is the first Cassie Edwards romance novel I have read. It was enjoyable ... and a quick read. Have two more Cassie Edwards romance novels "on hand" ready to read!
