Reviewing this book because it deserves a review. Also deserves to be back in print.

Leclerc's book is the most lucid overview of A.N. Whitehead's thought available in english. It has all of the rigor and excitement with none of the propaganda or pedantry it's so easy to fall into when discussing Whitehead. Simply put, process philosophy presents a totally new paradigm in the history of metaphysics and carries deep implications for a broader realm of knowledge than any other system put forth, perhaps since Aristotle. That makes it interesting, but hard to articulate in digestible language. LeClerc, in this text, does a good job getting at both the stimulating originality of process thought as well as its rigor and potential (which remains even today) as a major catalyst for change in any discipline it touches. We have hardly even begun unpacking the implications of Process and Reality. LeClerc's study helps bring us towards that end.
