Published to accompany a major exhibition organized by the Tate Gallery, London, this is the first publication to explore the impact of British art on the international symbolist movement
Andrew Wilton (1942 -) was the first Curator of the Clore Gallery for the Turner Collection at Tate Britain, London, and is the author of many works on the artist, including the standard catalogue of the watercolours.
Excellent detailed catalogue of the major exhibition at the Tate Gallery, Rossetti, Burne-Jones & Watts: Symbolism in Britain 1860 - 1910. Book explores some of the central themes of Symbolism art and important paintings.
A very dense but enjoyable book. I didn't get through the whole thing this time, but hope to get it out from the library again sometime to read and enjoy further.
