Feeling gloomy about Elyon's betrayal. Cornelia reads an old journal from when she and Elyon were friends. Without telling the others. Cornelia decides to go to the city of Meridian and confront Elyon. She finds herself in the middle of a battle for control of the city - an face to face with the boy of her dreams! Cornelia seeks Elyon out with the hope that they can discover the true meaning of friendship and restore the light of Meridian.
Finally Elyon realizes who she can trust and who she can't. Or rather, she STARTS to realize it. Great story and I love the comics at the end and beginning.
When re-reading the W.I.T.C.H. books/comics i try to sttay neutral since my love for the franchise is endless. But out of tthe chapter books so far I've loved this one the most. First of all CALEB AND CORNELIA *fangirl moment*, been a hard shipper of those two since they existed and will plan on shipping them hard and annoyingly for the rest of time. This is such a beautiful love story, but in the book you get to see details and thoughts that are missing from the comics that make their love story that much more epic.
Second of all , this may be for children, but the Meridian politics are in a way reflection of today's politics. I mean, The Veil = Trump's wall, Phobos = Trump. No wait, Phobos is so much better than Trump.
Unlike most children franchises W.I.T.C.H. is more mature in some ways, is deeper, has more character development, and again the Metaworld political system is today's world.
Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.
So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?
Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.
Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!
I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.
Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.
Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin.... Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)
This was an interesting look into Will's insecurities and Cornelia's friendship with Elyon. It was interesting and brilliant to see Elyon start to actually look around her and think for herself. It was stunning to see the first meeting between Caleb and Cornelia. Also the continuation of her and Elyon's friendship. Also to see Will grow more into herself and gain more confidence. It was an interesting and fantastic re-read and very enjoyable.
Brilliant 7th instalment of the series. Much better than the TV series although I still like that too. Love, friendship are still so strong in this series
The Light Of Meridian (WITCH) 7 PLOT: Cornelia is missing the old times she had with Elyvon. So despite Will's disagreement that going to Meridian is a bad idea, she takes matter's into her own hands and sets off to see if there's anything redeemable in her old friend. In Meridian, she meets and falls in love with the mysterious boy in her dreams (Caleb).
My Thoughts: I didn't have any notes on this one so I'll just tell what I thought. I think I gained a higher level of respect for Cornelia. If it's one thing I learned in life its how valuable it is to have friend's that don't give up on you. Even when you push them away. I liked how we see Elyon finally opening her eyes and coming into some truths. Even though she's scared to step up we see her maturing and wanting to make a difference. I think Elyon will make a very powerful ruler of Meridian. It was interesting to see the time shift and the conversation between her and her mother. I'm rooting for Elyon. Usually, Cornelia annoys me with her brooding about how the leader should be her and not Will, but here I felt for her because for so long she dreamed about her love only to find him and then have to leave him. I can only imagine how heartbreaking that would be. I thought the tear (flower) was very symbolic. It showed how a thing of sadness could blossom into a thing of beauty. It showed hope they'd reunite again.
RATE: 8 I liked the strong message of friendship. I also liked the message of how our dreams have a way of appearing when we least expect it and to always have hope.
So, up until now, the W.I.T.C.H. books have all been adapted (?) by the same person. With this one we get a new adapter - Julie Komorn. Perhaps adjusting to a different author's style is part of the reason that this is the lowest rated of my re-read so far, but I still liked the book!
In this book, Cornelia is really upset because she's thinking about all the memories she shared with Elyon before Elyon went off to Metamoor (the evil world). She believes that that Elyon has to still be inside somewhere - and she's determined to prove it to her friends.
So, Cornelia decides to go to Metamoor on her own without the protection of Will, Irma, Taranee, and Hay Lin. It's a dangerous idea but she has to prove there is still good in Elyon. While she is there, she meets a handsome boy named Caleb, as well as a bunch of rebels hoping for a better life. She also learns things about Elyon that Elyon herself didn't even know.
Even if I gave it three stars, I still liked it and we learned very important information that I just know is critical to understanding the rest of the series. On to the next one! :)
Cornelia sneaks into Meridian in the hope of showing Elyon the truth and making her see that what she's doing was wrong. But the portal she used ended up in a fountain and she almost drowned - if the boy of her dreams didn't save her.
Here, we are introduced with the handsome and strong rebel warrior named Caleb. He had appeared in Cornelia's dreams for a long time. In fact, Elyon drew Cornelia a rather accurate picture of him based on Cornelia's description! And it also turned out he had been dreaming of her! So my favorite couple in W.I.T.C.H. is formed!
I used to love W.i.t.c.h. from the TV series to the books to the comics. I really loved them all and now I'm determined to read all the books to see how it ends. This one was good because of the love story for Cornelia, but the whole politics going on just didn't interest me and kind of lost me - even if it is a reflection of politics in this world right now.
I will always love the comic pages at the start and end of these books.
I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.
I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.
