I really liked it! Nick Hornby is an amazing author! Wow!

When I first saw the name of the book it interest me. I read it and enjoyed reading it. It talked about a boy who involved and changed a man's life and get to know him and stay with him. They became close. I searched about it and found that it is also a movie so I watch it as well, it was acted as it was written in the book.

It's a very funny story, isn't it?
I can't believe that a man and twelve years boy are friends each other. And they help each other! Wow:-) it's difficult to make much younger friend than me!! That's why I feel very interesting and funny while I'm reading this book:-O
In contrast, one thing that I was shocked in this book was... Marcus's teacher in his class was very crazy and upset. It is because she asked him 'Why don't you just keep out of their way?' It's unbelievable:-( Was Marcus upset? No!!! If I were the teacher, I'd not ask him that...
Except that, I really love this story!:D

Verdict:
This was a delectably surprising read. Did not expect this book to shed so much light on meaningful human relationships. The crux of the book is about the learning process that a child goes through as he or she is growing up. Marcus is finding life hard to deal with and is struggling, as many adolescent teenagers do, with family and school problems and knowing how to make friends with his peers. The problems of bringing up a child as a single parent are also highlighted in this book. Fiona is so wrapped up in her own problems that she fails to see what is happening in her son, Marcus’s life. When Fiona tries to commit suicide, Marcus comes to believe that two people cannot make a happy and secure unit. The author suggests that making single parents into couples is not necessarily the answer. His alternative solution is to make a community of people who are close to each other and care about each other. He also suggests that organizations like SPAT (Single Parents Alone Together) can sometimes provide an environment in which isolated and lonely single parents can meet other people. Thoughtful and enlightening, through and through.

I love this book very much. It was very amusing for me to read this book. However, I was sad to read the Chapter 3. I think suicide is absolutely wrong. Everyone has pain inside that cause them to stumble. However, I believe that we are able to stand up and walk again even after making mistakes. To kill someone is wrong. Of course. Similarly, to kill themselves is wrong. This is my opinion.

I'm sorry to forget updating, but I finished to read this book. When I startd to read this book, I could not read smoothly because this story is very confused about each characters. However, I watched the DVD of this story, I could understand more detail. After finish to read, I felt warm. At first of this story, Will was not interested in anyone, and he thought that is cool. However, at the end of this story, he was changed to be very kind(?) person. I like him at last. And also, Marcos is very very good and brave boy. He knows that his mother is crazy, but he thougt that his mother is important. I think that his feeling made Will's character change. I like this book^^ Thank you for recommend^^

Quiero aclarar algunos puntos acerca de este libro:
- Para empezar, es una versión resumida que me tuve que leer para clase, de modo que tampoco puedo puntuar toda la obra.
- Ha sido entretenida, mejor de las que suelo leer en el insituto, no obstante, hay temas del libro que quiero tocar:
(SPOILERS)
- La depresión. O más bien cómo el niño culpa a su madre de estar "triste" y de no ocuparse de él al principio de la historia. Sin embargo, con el tiempo va preocupándose más por ella.
+ Por eso me ha gustado, por la evolución de Marcus y Will, al menos en parte.
- El bullying (acoso escolar). Culpabilizan a la víctima. Le dicen que se aleje de los que se meten con él, que deje de ser "tan raro", que vista, tenga los mismos gustos y se comporte como los demás. NO. La culpa NUNCA es de la víctima. Y es algo que no me ha gustado.
Pero como he dicho, tampoco ha sido una mala lectura.
