What a fun book. I enjoyed reading this woman's adventures of helping falcons, bats, and wrens recuperate from injuries. Unfortunately her comments about using pesticides and their dire effects on the environment (written in the 70's are still true. We haven't seemed to learn much about that.

Delightful descriptions of the author's astonishing interactions with her bird friends. Arline was a special person to initiate bird rescues, she so loved them. Stories incorporate some interesting historical viewpoints of birds. The photographs in the book add a wonderful dimension, as they are almost impressionistic in quality. If you are interested in photographic styles take a look at this book. If you love animals, especially birds, you will find this book a real treasure.
