Illona Haus announced her arrival in the world of crime fiction in the spring of 2005 with her acclaimed debut Blue Mercy - a gritty, edge-of-your-seat psychological-thriller featuring tough and savvy Homicide detective Kay Delaney. Set in Baltimore, Maryland, Haus's novels are populated with compelling characters, made genuine by her personal connections and experience with the city's Homicide Unit over many years.

It is Haus's bold and unique voice, her unflinching eye for detail, and her cutting-edge research, that make the Kay Delaney series a world that is both intensely authentic and horrifyingly dark.

I've never been so anxious to finish a book. The suspense in this one was unbearable. A sadistic loner kidnaps an undercover vice cop and holds her in captivity while the police race to find her. Just needed this one resolved so the torture and abuse would end.

Not really sure how I feel about this police procedural. Kay, the main police chickie, is intent on finding Mickey. At times I think she'd be much happier running rogue then having to garner help from her other counterparts. Her ex-love affair with Finn is a tad annoying. Why do all nitty gritty police officers have to come from failed relationships?

The ending bothered me too. I don't want to give out any spoilers, but WTF? Talk about a lack of closure. When I started this novel I was sad that there were none to follow. Now a part of me is glad as I won't feel like I need to read something I'm missing.

Illona Haus "Blue" series is well-written and entertaining. I think I actually liked "Blue Justice" best. But that's it for her - just the three novels? I want to know what happens to Kay & Finn and the rookie cop, Mickey.

Great book! The ending was a bit quick... Was expecting, hoping for a little more wrap up of things. So then I had to go see when the next book was due out....and was disappointed to not find any info on a 4th book. Loved the series, loved Kay!

This was an awesome book to read and would love to read more to find out more. It kept my interest and I found it to be a page turner that I had a hard time putting down. If you haven't read it you should pick this book to read.

Simply the scariest serial killer book I have read. Haus is stunning realist. Stopped my heart several times.

Really enjoyed this one. Fast paced with good characters. This one was about a serial killer - a very disgusting character. I will keep my eyes out for more by her!
