Bigfoot and Other Strange Beasts by Rob Shone is a concise, graphic novel explaining the myth of the Bigfoot. After initially presenting a general overview of Bigfoot, the book dives into a story of a group of travellers in Nepal who claim to work for an American Oil Company. When they encounter a monastery, they discuss the myth of the Yeti (a type of Bigfoot). At this time, through many visuals, Shone depicts various first-hand encounters with Bigfoot, and the attempts to try and uncover the mystery of it. Shone even takes the story to China by explaining the "Wild man of China". Even though this book is short, it provides a lot of information on Bigfoot and convinces the reader into believing the legend is true. A real photograph of the Bigfoot is even presented in the book (even though some believe that the figure in the picture was just a dressed up human).
I recommend this book to those who seek knowledge in new topics, or want more in-depth knowledge on topics they already know about. This book is a beginners guide to understanding the Bigfoot, however I am sure there is a lot of content present that many experts would not even know. I picked up this book because of my curiosity of the Bigfoot, and even though it is slightly too short, a little bit confusing (due to the various stories) and has too many pictures, the story still conveys significant facts. For the future, I might even plan to read more books of this series, such as the graphic novel about the Loch Ness Monster, to gain more knowledge on unfamiliar topics.
