Galen Avery Rowell (August 23, 1940 – August 11, 2002) was a wilderness photographer, adventure photojournalist and mountaineer. Born in Oakland, California, he became a full-time photographer in 1972.

Galen Rowell has taken many stunning photographs all over the USA, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and this large-format book has a great representation of them.

Great use of clouds, the sky, sunrises, sunsets, and the moon to show off the land and sea.

I especially liked the photos of Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the desert Southwest. And I really need to get to Hawaii again!
