An interesting look inside the official diaries of one of the Kaiser's more liberal advisers during WWI. It'd probably be even more interesting if I knew more German history; as it is the names of friends, enemies and political rivals all go right over my head. It's nice background for other books about the period, though, as enough of the names have stuck with me that I think 'Oh, that guy Muller liked/hated' when I come across names of Chancellors & the like.
