A CURSE OF THE CENTURIES

What hideous crime had caused the Grand Priest, Imhotep, to be Buried alive? Thirty centuries later, the answer remained a mystery. Yet somehow his deadly Scroll of Thoth retained its power, fatal to those who came in contact with it. There was beautiful Helen Grosvenor, queen-like but somehow vulnerable, Muller, a man who understood the secrets of the ages, and battled against them, Frank Whemple, the
young archaeologist who loved Helen, and struggled with the fate that threatened to overwhelm them. And, finally, the mysterious Ardath Bey, forbidding, courtly, and tinged with an ancient guilt.

An unmarked burial place deep in the desert is dug out of the ground. Inside is a mummy which is unwrapped and as the yellowed linen come away like dead tissue it reveals a greyish brown face, cracked and brittle. The eyes partly opened. On further inspection the grotesque creature hasn't had its brain or organs removed. This mummy had been wrapped alive, sentenced to death, imagine wrapped alive, the breath slowly leaving your body as the sound of dirt being thrown on the coffin as you are buried alive. The mummy known as Imhotep will disappear and come back to try to kill and then resurrect his 3000 year old lover who now lives in the body of Helen.
