Sacred Feathers: The Power of One Feather to Change Your Life

Rate this book
Throughout history, feathers have been seen as mystical signs, portents, and opportunities. Author Maril Crabtree has gathered a unique collection of fifty-five modern-day personal encounters with feathers, recounting the inspiring moments that changed the lives of those who touched -- and were touched by -- these cosmic messengers.

Contributors come from every walk of life -- including noted authors Rachel Naomi Remen (Kitchen Table Wisdom), Denise Linn (Feng Shui for the Soul), and Dr. Janet Cunningham (A Tribe Returned) -- as well as therapists, business consultants, lawyers, naturalists, Native American healers, and others who have been renewed by a feather contact. Some of the featured stories include:

-- On the brink of despair, a woman is able to reach her goal with the arrival of a mysterious black feather

-- A young man finds that a feather helps to heal his broken heart

-- One magpie feather teaches a psychologist the lesson of patience

-- A pair of birds help an unhappily married woman make a difficult decision

-- A golden eagle makes a Native American writer's lifelong dream come true

Stories of mystical powers of feathers or signs people interpret from finding a feather especially in an illogical place or certain time of need. I do not necessarily believe this for me but it does brighten my day when I find one or receive one from family or friends because they know I love them and think of me when they find one!

This was a totally life-changing book for me. It's a long story. How I came upon it is an amazing story in itself. But it opened my eyes to things I had deliberately suppressed, ignored, avoided and scoffed at. It changed my perspective for ever.

Wonderful for anyone who sees validating symbolism or would like to! Stories from a cross-section of people who recognize the magic available to us when we open to it.
