Great book. I definitely want to make some planes. When I am ready to do it I will certainly check out this book again. The one star off is because it didn't really show any of the more specialized planes, i.e. shoulder, moving filister, plow. It does go into moulding planes a little bit.

This was a very practical book about making wooden planes, obviously, but it also contained good pointers on a number of basic tasks like accurate marking and making small jigs.
The way that David writes reminds me of someone I know and that is a good thing. I enjoyed it start to finish.

Good. Most of the book (120 pages) is a VERY detailed guide to build Krenov wood planes. The last 50 pages explain how to plane, planning jigs and scraper sharpening and use.
