I chose Ray Charles to read a biography because I think he is very inspirational. He defied the odds and beat his disablility to become one of the most talented and famous music artists of his time and history. I love the sound of the the piano and I wish I could listen to him play it. He struggled with blindness and deaths in his family when he was young. As a young adult, he matured fast, he had finacnial problems until he started to become very popular. He also had drug addiction and it required a near-jail experience to wake him up that heroin was unhealthy for him. I have only read a couple other biographies and they weren't as good as this one. I think that the author did a good job doing his research, getting his message out, and keeping it at a reasonable length. The others I read were boring and long. I suggest this book to people interested in Ray Charles, but if you're just looking for a different genre, maybe not the best choice. I enjoyed reading it, despite the fact that it was factualy. Usually, fictional books are much better and interesting to read.
