Math Man written by Teri Daniels was a good children's book. The book has good illustrations. It was easy to read. The plot was very engaging, and it left you wondering what was going to happen. I liked how it had two sets of classrooms go into the superstore. The first classroom was Mrs. Gourd. The second classroom was a classroom of mice. In the story Mr. Budget (the superstore manager) had a crises with the price scanner. Math Man (worker at superstore) had to save the day by doing math in his head. This would be a great book to read to students who are learning how to count money. I would read this book in ac second or third grade classroom. I liked how it shows a math equation in two ways. The first way is written out and the second is showing how the problem is expressed. One way I would get kids to interact with the story is having fake money and whenever there is a math equation I would have them use the money to calculate the answer. I like this book because it shows the importance of math and how it could save the day.

This is a humorous book that provides a storyline with real world math applications. Math Man is a stock boy at the supermarket. The class students will go on a tour of the supermarket and use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and other math concepts in order to solve the math scenarios presented in this engaging story. It is great for all grades (k-5) as a read aloud for a whole group discussion. You may also extend by creating your own supermarket in the classroom and have the students come and shop (can also tie in money).

I truly enjoyed this book this book would be great for third grade and above. It focuses a great amount with addition while being an enjoyable read. I loved the story line and it gives the students a different outlook about how knowing your math can make you a hero. This book gave so many great ideas for how to use math at the grocery store. Most students could relate!

This is a good counting book. It also uses percents. It is about a class that goes to mighty math to shop for one thing. There is a spill in one of the aisles, math man is going to clean it up. The kids go watch math in action. Later, the registers are down so they have to add all the prices. BUT MATH MAN COMES TO THE RESCUE TO ADD. The kids will like it, its very entertaining.

This is another great book to have children read in their spare time. Marnie's class goes to the store and finds that there are math problems everywhere. The stock boy helps them solve the problems by using addition, subtraction and even percents. The illustrations also help paint a better picture of the problems and the story.

This book had a really fun story line which related math concepts to being a hero! It had many math concepts such as: addition, fractions, and dividing. This book could be used for a lesson on any of these concepts alone, or on all of them as a review!

This book would be good to use in a lesson with your 4-5th grade students when teaching about division and fractions. It does a great job with giving examples with food and coming up with strategies of being able to put it away.
