There are some good nuggets to be gained from this book for sure. There are very few substantive books on recruiting, so I think this is worth the investment. I bought his Real Recruiting book my first year in the profession and I bought this one in my 5th year, while the world was in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic and everything shut down. It gave me some ideas and some talking points for my team. It gave me some new talk tracks to try. It gave me the kick in the butt to get up and outwork this not-so-great market right now.
Are some of the references outdated? Yes. Even with an update in 2014 some things still sound like something coming out of 1995. But there is value to be had with this book. I appreciate Steve Finkel for what he adds to our profession!
