I read this book for one reason -- I am doing research on the topic of Edith Stern. In that sense, the book is an excellent resource, although at times I couldn't quite tell the date at which certain events took place. The book is a relatively easy read.

I liked this book because it gave some good information on 20th century New Orleans. Plus I enjoy visiting Longue Vue. It's always interesting to read about people who have lots of money and what they choose to do with their money and influence. Of course, this book might have sugar-coated things a bit, but overall was a good read.

I have an addiction to books on this topic and no I am not jewish I am a human being tho and reading about these times and trials helps me to put things into perspective and hopefully pass along some of it to the younger generation.
