This tells of a girl in Dublin who progresses from a brief career as a brothel girl to run her own brothel. This is at the start of the twentieth century so it mentions Monto a notorious slum district and the theft of the Irish crown jewels in 1913, before moving on to the Easter rising in 1916.

The author Michael Scott used his wife's name to pen several books as he thought they would sell better to women. He began with children's fantasy and added adult fantasy before writing the Seasons trilogy and a book about a woman who wins the Irish lottery.
