I really enjoyed this version of the Three Little Pigs. There is a lot of French cajun which slows down reading. But the translations and meanings of the phrases are given at the bottom of each page. This would be a great book for a French class but could also be included as a read aloud for a study on different versions of this classic folk tale. Students would learn a lot about the culture and traditions of southwest Louisiana by hearing this book.

This version follows the earlier ones pretty closely. It has a lot of the same phrases like "little pig, little pig, let me come in" and "huff and puff" but in french. All of the pigs survive but they do eat the wolf at the end in a traditional cajun recipe called grillades, kind of like a stew. It has cute black and white illustrations with just a little color added to each page. Overall, it is a very appealing book.
