"Two bear cubs and their mother venture out of their cave whereupon the cubs' explorations get them involved with a skunk, a swarm of honeybees, and a fish. Meanwhile, mama bear watches her little ones....Vividly colored hijinks wrapped in a securitity blanket."--Booklist.
This is a very simple, easy book for very early readers. The reason I am giving this 3 stars is that there is not an overall theme to the book, and the colors of the text inflict with efficient reading. The book paints a very friendly picture of nature. Throughout the book, the cubs learn that they need their mom, so a takeaway lesson from this book could be to accept help.
Two bear cubs explore their surroundings and become disoriented and a little lost -- but they are soon re-united with their mother -- and they weren't really that far from home! Story would be easy to adapt to a puppet show for storytime.
Copyright 1982 this title is illustrated in various shades of green and of course black for the bears. These two cubs are adventurous and suddenly where is Mother Bear. Brief story that the youngest readers will enjoy.
