This has been living on my Kindle for a while now, once upon a time being a random freebie. In all fairness was a random freebie it’s about as good as one has any right to expect, because it’s actually a properly published book, meaning decent quality and editing (although seems like editors everywhere still can’t tell the difference between Columbia and Colombia). Decent thriller, as the title suggests has much to do with photography, protagonist being a photojournalist that gets involved in a story that ends up hitting dangerously close to his family or at least the new configuration his family has been shaped into by the divorce and subsequent relationships. The story had entirely too much to do with organized crime for my tastes, but overall it was well told and featured nicely complex interesting characters. The book is 20 years old, so there are certain dated elements. Digital photography and editing was just becoming popular back then, something crucial to the plot. Likeable protagonist with a couple of really great kids, the writing was at its best when it dealt with various relationships in the book. The thrillerness of it all was decent enough, but nothing special. So all told, it made for a reasonably entertaining and quick, but pretty average and forgettable read. Pretty much what you’d expect for a book with almost no reviews on GR and none on Amazon. Just a random thriller that got shuffled around to no acclaims in the sea of the same.
