Found this in the charity shop, bought it for a smile, not expecting it be so thorough; however the publish date being 1995 does date the info some what.
The premise of what we consider a "miracle" is challenged - and it does point out the idea that modern medicine is considered viable due to the placebo trials the percentage ratio was quite low for it be considered usable!
Comparatively the ratio of affective alternative medicines can to be higher, but because they are not 'controlled' they can not be quantified and therefore could be seen as a miracle...
Quite a lot of the data is USA based, as in research papers, medicine and recommendations for seeking advice.
