A very light, quick read. While it's impossible to get into too much detail when you cover a person's life and legacy in 32 pages, it certainly does help illustrate how interconnected the musical scene in Vienna was around the time of the American Revolution. It's crazy how many famous musical people knew each other, and saw the birth of America and the French Revolution!

A nice kids book on Beethoven. It's a more advanced biography, most appropriate for 2nd grade level and up. If read in context with history - it fits in rather well with all the references to Napoleon and his escapades, we seen more of how Beethoven was a part of the pop culture of the time. The book details his most famous works and has lots of side bars on the other things going on during that time.

A time line and glossary on the last pages help interested students look for more information.
