I'm not sure what purpose this book is meant to serve. It doesn't make a good beginning reader, because it has words like "mountains" in it. It can't be informational, because a person who is at this reading level is not going to be able to read unfamiliar words. The pictures do educate children about maps, but only if you already know what the words say. It just goes to show, as I've noted before, that it's much harder that you'd think to write a good easy reader.
