Pompano A History tells the story of the hardworking men and women who transformed Pompano from a wild farming community into a flourishing city on Florida's coast. From the hardships of hurricanes to the riches of the 1920s real estate boom, through the tough times of the Depression to victory in World War II, author Frank J. Cavaioli, PhD, traces the history of Pompano through fascinating facts and residents' own accounts.
With the exception of Chapter 1, this book on the history of Pompano Beach was boring and lackluster. Other than the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse and The Indian Mound, there’s nothing else that’s truly remarkable about this city. The city is beautiful, but there’s nothing of interest that grabbed my attention, historically speaking.
