An absolutely fascinating account. Without doubt, a tremendous amount of painstaking research has gone into this book, including as much as is possible the verification of sites and actions by journeying to those that can be found. Yet this is an easy read in that it does not get bogged down with scholarly verbose theories and needing to prove a point, this is told as a tale that keeps up an interesting and, dare I say, exciting pace of the quite unimaginable journeys, skirmishes, battles and manhunt that is described here.
This is definitely a book I will re-read and I will also seek out more on this topic
