At just under six feet tall, David Fromm was not an extraordinarily talented basketball player. But his desire to play could not be denied. So, he made an unusual decision: he put aside law school and went to play basketball in a foreign country instead. Fromm moved to Prague hoping to find a club team that he' d played against on a previous trip and find his way onto the lineup. As he goes about making his dreams come true, he must learn everyday Czech phrases like, Don' t shoot, I' m Canadian, and re-learn the sport he' s played all his life. Away Games is a wry and touching read for anyone who' s experienced the thrill of competition and strove to overcome the odds.
