About the author

Shungiku Nakamura (中村春菊 Nakamura Shungiku?, born December 13,1980) is a Japanese yaoi manga artist. She is most famous for creating Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance. Shungiku Nakamura's distinct style of manga has been identified largely throughout Japanese and English yaoi fanbases. Her works usually include large age gaps between the seme and uke and characters with careers in the publishing industry (as depicted in Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi). She often cowrites with Fujisaki Miyako, who authored the novels of Yoshino Chiaki no baai in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.

Leído hasta el volumen 5. No sé, no me está convenciendo y quizá sea por el dibujo, que no me gusta. No creo que continúe, por lo menos con el manga, igual al anime le doy una oportunidad.

Este tomo me ha encanto, en el vemos la evolución de la relación de Misaki y Usami, y como se enfrenta Misaki a un miembro de la familia de Usami y eso me ha gustado mucho; por otro lado, tenemos a la pareja que la componen Kamijo y Nowaki y eso una de las parejas que más me gustan porque las reacciones de Kamijo cuando esta con Nowaki son muy graciosas y en este tomo la propuesta de Nowaki saca de quicio a Kamijo pero no es todo como se ve y lo que opino de la otra pareja que ha empezado a salir en este tomo la sabreis cuando haga la reseña en el blog y os deje el link

So Misaki and Usagi are back in another funny instalment of Junju Romantica. This time Usagi is being honoured with some kind of literate award and let’s just say he would rather not be recognized, but he has no choice but to attend this party. To make matters worse they interrupt him and Misaki during a very intimate situation. Where everyone knows of their relationship Misaki would rather pretend the relationship doesn’t exist all together.

Misaki is feeling bad that he hasn’t read the book that his lover is being honoured for and that makes him sad, so he decides to read the book and get him gorgeous roses because nothing else will do for his very gorgeous partner. Deal is, if asked Usagi will say that he wants nothing but Misaki. So this love is not smooth sailing, we get introduced to Usagi’s brother who is a bit of a prick and some, and Misaki comes to rescue for his man cus no one insults Usagi and gets away with it.

We get introduced to another couple in Junjo Terrorist, Miyagi and Shinobou. This love story is complicated, dealing with a 17 years age difference and the fact that the older guy was married to the younger guy’s older sister. Things get interesting fast and don’t forget the laughs this mangaka delivers with a capital D and I love a good laugh. So worth every penny!!!!!!

The only thing this manga has going for it is the story, what little of it that actually exists. The yaoi relationships are toxic as hell, which happens very often in yaoi and for why? Sexual assault on a minor, which results in unexpected romance? Hell no. What was wrong with you, younger me? Did you just want the smut back then? Lord…

The bulk of volume 5 is devoted to Junjo Terrorist; the story of Yoi Miyagi (35) and Shinobu Takatsuki (18). Miyagi was once married to Shinobu's older sister but after their divorce Shinobu returns from Australia to meet with him in order to let him know that he is in love with him, and had been for years. Miyagi is completely taken aback and completely rejects his advances stating that Shinobu is too young and he himself doesn't "swing that way."

But, Shinobu is persistent. He confesses his love over and over again and when Miyagi sexually assaults him in order to scare him away he comes back for more and tells him he still loves him. I actually teared up witnessing everything Shinobu was willing to put himself through in order to get Miyagi to love him. This became full-on crying when I saw his reaction to Miyagi finally agreeing to "try" loving him. That entire storyline was a lot but I still liked it.

There was one Romantica story and in this one Akihiko and Misaki run into Akihiko's older brother, Haruhiko. These two obviously don't like each other and right off the bat Haruhiko starts insulting his brother, accusing him of not facing his responsibilities to his family and hiding from reality. Misaki gets angry and starts defending Akihiko and loudly calls him a "big, fat idiot." 🤣🤣🤣 Haruhiko was surprised to learn that someone was actually capable of living with Akihiko and was so shaken by what Misaki said to him that he sent him flowers to his room (?!). The whole thing was funny and served to bring Akihiko closer to Misaki.

This really sucks because we're now getting to one of my favorite romantica arcs (usagis older brother). But with the 5th installment she has now added terrorist which in all honesty i didn't remember being this.... bad... like its bad bad. I didn't care about the age gap hell we already had a 10 year age gap but... like did we really need a 17 year one thats like a whole ass person there. It doesn't help that they're both somewhat unlikeable with only one really having emotional beats at all. Not to mention that even with a 3 year time skip and a divorce shinobu still has not started college yet, there is really nothing for me with terrorist. Again, did not remember it being that bad

I haven't been this excited about a manga series in a very long time. About three storylines are happening at once, and each pairing is unique and exciting. Each pairing will bring you tears of sorrow and joy at some point during the reading adventure. Something I did not expect was how much I enjoyed the art in this manga. The panels were all very well utilized; the story moves in a gentle flow that keeps you floating through the pages until you hit the end!

I would love to rate this book higher, but would it kill the writer to make the characters of age before they throw themselves at much older love interests? And wouldn’t it be nice if everything was consensual? Am I asking for too much here? Some of these people should really be in jail.

Το vol. 5 χωρίζεται σε 4 κεφάλαια, όπου τα 2 πρώτα, με τη σειρά τους, χωρίζονται σε 2 πράξεις. Στην πρώτη, ο Akihito, αρνείται να παρευρεθεί σε ένα πάρτι που οργανώνει ο εκδοτικός του οίκος, με αφορμή την βράβευση του βιβλίου του. Ο εκδότης του βέβαια, εκμεταλλευόμενος την αδυναμία του εκκεντρικού συγγραφέα του στον Misaki, φέρνει τα πράγματα έτσι ώστε ο καθένας τους αντίστοιχα, να πειστεί πως πρέπει να πάει για το καλό του άλλου. Στην διαδρομή για το ξενοδοχείο, ο Misaki, συναντά έναν μυστηριώδη άντρα, τον οποίο και βοηθάει να φτάσει στον προορισμό του αφού είναι κοινός. Εκεί, θα ανακαλύψει έκπληκτος πως ο εν λόγω άντρας, είναι ο αδερφός του Akihito με τον οποίο, δεν έχει καθόλου καλές σχέσεις. Οργισμένος από την επιθετικότητά του αδερφού του Akihito απέναντι στον ίδιο και το έργο του, ο Misaki ξεπερνάει τα όρια ξεστομίζοντας λόγια που ποτέ δεν θα φανταζόταν ότι θα τολμούσε, κάνοντας άθελά του τον σύντροφό του εξαιρετικά ευτυχισμένο αφού με τον τρόπο αυτό του έδειξε πόσο τον νοιάζεται. Είναι η επιβεβαίωση πως τα πιο μικρά πράγματα, μπορούν να προσφέρουν την μεγαλύτερη ευτυχία. Βέβαια, η επόμενη πράξη, που είναι μικρής έκτασης, επιβεβαιώνει παράλληλα πως το τι είναι μικρό, εξαρτάται από το μέγεθος αυτού που κάνει την πράξη. Ναι... η ζωή δεν είναι δίκαιη για όλους. Όσον αφορά την σειρά, το συγκεκριμένο κεφάλαιο, αντιστοιχεί στο 1ο επεισόδιο της 2ης season της σειράς. Και κάπου εδώ εμφανίζεται η τρίτη μας ιστορία, για πρώτη φορά. Την ιστορία του Miyagi και του Shinobu. Ο πρώτος, καθηγητής στο πανεπιστήμιο, πρώην κουνιάδος του δεύτερου, νυν εργαζόμενος υπό την διεύθυνση του πατέρα του και 17 χρόνια μεγαλύτερός του. Ο Shinobu, τελειόφοιτος Λυκείου και τρελά ερωτευμένος με τον πρώην γαμπρό του, στον οποίο και δεν διστάζει να εξομολογηθεί τα συναισθήματά του, επιστρέφοντας από την Αυστραλία όπου σπούδαζε. Φυσικά, ο Miyaki, πιστεύει αρχικά πως ο νεαρός άντρας απλά παίζει μαζί του ή επιθυμεί να πειραματιστεί, και όταν αναγκάζεται να μείνει μαζί του έπειτα από έκκληση του πατέρα του, θα φτάσει στα όριά του, κάτω από την πίεση του νεαρού. Όταν θα καταλάβει επιτέλους πως σοβαρολογεί και πως τα συναιθήματά του είναι ειλικρινή, νιώθοντας πως αρχίζει άθελά του και ασυναίσθητα να ανταποκρίνεται κι εκείνος, έστω και βαθιά μέσα του, θα προσπαθήσει να τον διώξει μακριά του. Και όταν το πετυχαίνει και μαθαίνει πως ο Shinobu αποφάσισε να πάει πίσω στην Αυστραλία, θα του ζητήσει να μείνει εκεί και να προσπαθήσουν, ό,τι κι αν σημαίνει αυτό στο μέλλον. Τι μαθαίνουμε από αυτό; Ο έρως χρόνια δεν κοιτά, ούτε κοινωνικά standars, ούτε ηθικά πρέπει. Και παρά το γεγονός πως είναι η ιστορία στην οποία, ακόμα και στην συνέχεια, δίνεται η λιγότερη έμφαση, δεν παύει κοινωνιολογικά να έχει ένα εξαιρετικό υπόβαθρο ώστε να σε προβληματίσει πάνω στα πρέπει και στα θέλω των σχέσεων και στο κατά πόσο τελικά, υπάρχουν κανόνες που πρέπει να ακολουθούνται ή που δεν μπορούν να παραβιαστούν. Επιστρέφοντας στην 1η season, τα 2 αυτά κεφάλαια, ανταποκρίνονται στα επεισόδια 10 και 11, όπου προσπεράσαμε με την αρχή του τεύχους αυτού.

yay! As far as the Junjou Romantica pairing we are now going in season 2.

Junjou Romantica Act 7: Misaki and Usagi attend a party for Usagi winning the Kikukawashou Award. On his way to the Teito Hotel, meets man who has never rode a train before. After reaching the hotel, its discovered that the man is actually Usagi's older brother, Usami Haruhiko, who is there to attend a meeting and knew nothing about the party. Two brother exchange words, with Misaki becoming angry and calling Haruhiko a moron. In their hotel room, Misaki gives him the flower that he brought before coming to the hotel. The two make love. The next day, flowers are sent to Misaki by Haruhiko.

Act 7.5: Misaki is still unsure why Haruhiko sent him flowers. He is keeping them because he cant find him to return them. but he wants Usagi to return all the suits he had bought for him. In the end, he makes a deal with Usagi to just pick one suit that he likes. In the end, he gets deceived by Usagi and ends up getting them all anyway, with Usagi showing him how to dress, starting with the underwear.

Junjou Terrorist Act 1-2: We meet Miyagi Yo who is the Literature Professor above Hiroki, he is sitting in what seems to be a cafe with a younger male. The younger male is Shinobu, who was studying overseas in Australia but returned after he found out that Miyagi was divorced, to come confess his feelings for him. Miyagi declines his feelings saying that they are both males and that he is 17 years older than him, but Shinobu doesnt seem to care. Later, the Dean of the University is talking to Miyagi. We find out that The Dean is Shinobu's father and because of the tension between him and his sister, the Dean feels its best if the younger male stays with Miyagi. He reluctantly agrees. Shinobu comes and tries to cook dinner but fails. A scene that had be blushing while reading cause it was not in the anime happens. (Not going to tell you what it is. After Shinobu tells Miyagi that if he makes love to him, he will leave him alone. It almost looks like it is going to happen til the Act ends. We find out that Miyagi stopped himself before they could go all the way. Shinobu leaves. And in the days that follow the Professor starts to feel bad and lonely. Cause he misses having the younger male around. He starts to wonder if maybe he is falling for him. But it uncertain because he cant quite seem to let go of the love he had for his teacher who passed away about 17 years before. Which is why his marriage didnt work. He wonders if letting someone else in to his heart is a betrayal to her. After calling the Dean, he found out that Shinobu is on his way back to Australia. He runs to the airport and stops him just in time.

Admito que la historia de Shinobu y Miyagi es la que menos me atrae de las tres pero, aún así, he disfrutado leyéndola, porque he descubierto cosas nuevas que no salen en el anime y eso me ha gustado bastante. Sobre todo el momento "llanto de niño grande" jajaja. No puedo con él. ¿Y eso de querer cocinar sin tener ni idea y que todo le salga churruscado? ¡Qué lastima de Shinobu! jajajaja
Menos mal que hay también una escena extra de Hirosan y Nowaki, los shipeo demasiado. Me encanta las reacciones de Hiroki por cada cosa que planea, dice o hace su seme xD
En cuanto a Misaki y Usagi, se sabe cuál es más niño de los dos, pero me sigue impresionando el poder que tiene Misaki sobre él sin tan siquiera ser consciente de ello. Puede manejar a Usagi como le de la gana y no se da cuenta hasta que es evidente. ¡Es para matarlos a ambos! (en el buen sentido, claro).

Haruhiko, Usami'as older brother, meets Misaki on the subway. Misaki defends Usami's work, when Haruhiko attacks Usami's chosen profession.
Shinobu returns from Australia to make Miyagi love him. Due to a 15 age gap and past tragidy, Miyagi can't take Shinobu's feelings seriously and pushes him away. Shinobu reminds Miyagi of his younger self, and he realized he's been closed off emotiionaly. In the end he takes the plung and says he want to try loving Shinobu. Miyagi reminds me of Hiroki, both are one thing on the outside hiding someone different on the inside. Miyagi is friendly and jovial on the outside, on the inside he is jaded and emotionless. Shinobu is passionate, innocent and persistant; making him a good partnet for Miyagi.
