101 Exercises for the Soul: Divine Workout Plan for Body, Mind, and Spirit

Rate this book
In this follow-up to 365 Prescriptions for the Soul, Dr. Bernie Siegel uses his trademark humor and insight to guide readers toward self-healing and an inspired life. He presents himself as a workout coach, providing a coach’s wisdom and stressing the coach’s mantra of practice, practice, practice. Each chapter consists of a coaching tip (where he explains the chapter’s teaching) followed by four or five exercises designed to bring the teaching directly into the reader’s life. The exercises are all short and easy to apply. Each of the 20 chapters covers a different topic, such as overcoming obstacles, creating a positive mental attitude, building a stronger spiritual foundation, and cultivating a sense of empowerment. Throughout the book, as always, Dr. Siegel emphasizes a proactive approach to self-healing. An ideal gift for friends and loved ones, 101 Exercises for the Soul shows how anyone can infuse their life with love and well-being.

Life is short, far too short to waste its magic. The majority of us take life far too seriously. We rarely take time to enjoy the moment. The idea of being silly or playing is beyond our realm of thought. Yet, play and silliness is probably exactly what we all need. There’s really no better stress reliever. Plus, there’s the added benefit of actually enjoying life.

101 Exercises for the Soul contains twenty coaching tips that are good for the body, mind, and soul. Accompanying each tip are exercises that teach us to relax and not take life so seriously. Plenty of these will make you feel self conscious at first but after a while they bring out the inner child.

I found this book in a little free library and I’m so glad I grabbed it! I liked the authors approach and how he wrote out each exercise with knowledge, purpose, and humor. There was a lot of good information in this book and the author made a lot of great points about life in general. I will definitely take some of these exercises and work them into my life. I enjoyed this one and am grateful I stumbled across it! This is a book that should be read by many. I plan on passing it on to another LFL so someone else can benefit from it too!

This is an easy and enlightening read. For me personally, it felt familiar as though I was reading from my own point of view. I appreciate another pioneer's perspective on how to expand healing approaches in heal care establishments and populations.

Enjoyable book overall. I read one chapter a day, using it as a way to focus on positive activities each morning; and actually performed about 15% of the exercises, which I found beneficial.
