This is a cute story, but it feels WAY too short even for younger readers, at only 8 pages (7 plus title page) and barely a full thought on each page. Part of me wonders how it's at all worthwhile making "books" this short, but I have to assume it's that schools can afford them easily (hence this ex-library discard from the local school into their free library). Certainly I can't imagine parents rushing out to get this because their young readers asked for it.
Our youngest brought this book home from school to practice her reading. It's a very short book and it has colorful illustrations. The simple narrative in this book helps children learn to read.
