Pengarron Saga #2

Pengarron Pride

Rate this book
The second of the Pengarron sagas set in the mid-eighteenth century against the dramatic scenery of Mount's Bay, Penzance

Forced into a marriage against her will, Kerensa Trelynne has adapted well to her change in circumstances. Eight years on she is the established lady of the manor, happy in the arms of her husband Sir Oliver Pengarron – who she has grown to love – and the devoted mother of three children.

But when Kerensa sees the son of an old friend for the first time, she is horrified by his resemblance to her own husband. Discovering a truth she must never divulge puts her mind at rest, but when she realises it could help a friend in distress, Kerensa wonders if she should speak out, whatever the consequences for her own family.

Fans of Dilly Court, Nicola Pryce and Poldark will love the breathtaking second book in the Pengarron Sagas.

Another book that captures a few years in characters’ lives. This present fashion of sequels (episodes?j is ridiculous. We want to read a book, not a TV show that continues for ages. This book had a good scenario but got too repetitive and became just a part of the full story. Writing was not bad, that’s why I gave it an extra star.

Pride is over rated.....

Really like this series, the characters are coming together more and maturing. Oliver's pride might cost him his marriage...but his wife has the patience of wonders. Can't wait for the next one in this series. Five stars for making me cry....

Absolutely loved this book. Loved the writing style, believability of characters and could feel the joy and pain behind each of them. So impressed that I am now reading the whole series.

Not as good as the first, but better second half. Pretty predictable though.

An enthralling story of hardship and betrayal set against the dramatic dunes of eighteenth century Penzance.
