Fans can follow the exploits of Darryl and Wanda as they confront the daily dilemmas--and miracles--of being first-time parents in this most recent Baby Blues collection.
Rick Kirkman is a cartoonist and co-creator of the comic strip Baby Blues. He received the National Cartoonist Society Newspaper Comic Strip Award in 1995, and the Reuben Award in 2012 for his work on the strip. He also served as co-executive producer of The WB animated television series of Baby Blues.
I've been reading Baby Blues for a long time and recently decided to buy and read the whole collection and so glad I did! This is one of the very early books in the series from way back in 1992 and in it Zoe is an infant and Hammie and Wren are not yet born. The characters are still evolving in their drawing. But for anyone who has been a parent, this book will still bring strong associations and a lot of laughs, some things about babies never change or age! There is Zoe's first Christmas, they meet their impossibly perfect neighbor Bunny and her baby Bogart, Darryl gets in a car crash, the adventures and laughs go on and on. If you have only recently begun reading Baby Blues or are a fan of the strip, this older collection will take you back to the beginning and it's a great read!
This was a really cute collection of the realities of being new parents. Someone gave this book to me because I just got a new niece and a new baby tends to be a whole family affair, so I passed the book onto my brother and sis-in-law. So they know what they're in for.
