Many good Catholic men have been deceived into becoming Masons. In this powerful little book, a Catholic attorney and former 32nd degree Mason, John Salza, clearly shows why joining Masonry (including the Shriners) means embracing a false religion.
Having authored Masonry Unmasked for general readership, here John Salza writes specifically for Catholics, showing why the Church has always condemmed Freemasonry, and continues to condemn Freemasonry today (despite mistaken claims to the contrary.) He explains Masonic doctrines, history, rituals, oaths and curses, showing that Masonry is totally incompatible with Christianity and the Catholic Faith.
He answers the Who is the god of Freemasonry? How does Freemasonry view the Holy Bible? What are the self-curses of Freemasonry? Why does Freemasonry appear to be compatible with the Christian Faith? What have the Popes said about Freemasonry? Are Catholics involved in Freemasonry excommunicated? How does a Catholic exit Freemasonry?
Packed with facts and very well documented, Why Catholics Cannot Be Masons is a brief but potent revelation by a man who has been there - and then returned to the One True Faith.
John Salza has appeared on EWTN, and he hosts Catholic radio programs on Relevant Radio and EWTN Radio. He is the author of several apologetics books The Biblical Basis for Purgatory, The Mystery of Predestination, and The Biblical Basis for the Papacy.
Very fast read. Great for understanding why the two are irreconcilable. He takes a hard line often, which is understandable given his background, but it is tiresome if you're not often exposed to the "apologetics writing style." In other words, the style alone might make someone stop reading it due to how abrasive (perhaps unknowingly due to his passion for the subject) the book is. With that said, his points a references were spot on, so it's hard raise a reasonable objection beyond said style.
A fascinating read by a former Mason. This book has some pretty shocking details and shows in very clear terms why Catholics cannot be Masons, due to real, dangerous tenants of the Masonic philosophy and practice. My only regret was that the book was fairly short.
A quick, easy, and informative read on the contradictions between Catholicism and Freemasonry.
Salza covers all the bases in this book, clearly demonstrating why Catholics cannot be Masons. Recommend this book to anyone caught in some way between the Church and Masonry or anyone interested in the subject.
I needed to reread this book since I live in the Bible/Freemasonry belt. Oklahoma is controlled by Masons. It is worth having it to help me explain to people why I want nothing to do with this belief system.
I’d never understood why dad had always seemed to have had a bad case of masons mentionitis, so when I stumbled across this I thought it might provide some clarity. It does that, yes, but again it’s written in that kind of tone (which some other reviewers have mentioned or alluded to here) that makes the argument appear a bit fanatical to the layman, which then makes it a bit difficult to take seriously. I read it, I get it, but if you’re making an argument like this you don’t need to preach to the choir. 🤷♀️
A clear explanation as to why Catholics cannot be Freemasons. Some over generalizations and distractions to take away from the crux of the matter, which is Church authority, but I highly recommended this book for anyone interested in this subject.
