The author tries to tell the story of St. John Bosco - but in a way that completely misreads future audiences. When reading this book, I felt as if the author assumed I would be delighted to hear about what I consider truly dreadful attitudes and behaviors. It does give you a glimpse of what some Catholics in 1929 thought were terrific ways of thinking - and which I today find crippled and revolting. Couldn't finish it.
