This book looks at the USAAF fighter units in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations immediately after the US entered the war in 1942 until the war’s end in May 1945. The book documents the movement of squadrons and their fight groups, their operations, their claims of enemy planes, shot down, their own casualties, and their aces. If you are really interested in this type of statistical narrative then this might be the book for you.

Published in 1978, 'USAAF Fighter Units MTO 1942-45' is number 12 in the Aircam Airwar series of aviation titles. This brief volume looks at the airwar in the Mediterranean area. A potted history is accompanied by 35 fine photos and some colour artwork pages. An enjoyable read, though a little primitive by modern standards.
