سه تفنگدار نوشته الكساندر دوما با ترجمه محمد طاهر میرزا اسکندری منتشر شده است. الكساندر دوما یکی از پر آوازه‌ترین نویسندگان قرن ١٩ فرانسه است که به خاطر رمان‌های ماجراجویانه و تاریخی‌اش مانند سه تفنگدار و کنت مونت کریستو به شهرتی به سزا دست پیدا کرد. او رمان نویسی را با نوشتن رمان های تاریخی آغاز کرد و بیش از ٨٠ رمان از خود به یادگار گذاشت. امروزه حدود دویست فيلم و سريال بر اساس رمان‌هاي وي ساخته شده است و همچنان در سراسر جهان به واسطه‌ی قلم شیرین و داستان پردازش محبوبیت دارد. «سه تفنگدار» یکی از مشهورترین آثار اوست که در سال ١٨٤٤ منتشر شد. شخصیت‌های اصلی این داستان سه تن از تفنگداران لویی سیزدهم به نام‌هاي آتوس، آراميس، پورتوس هستند، بعدها دارتانیان به عنوان چهارمین نفر به آنها ملحق می‌شود. رمان روایت، قهرماني‌ها و دلاوري‌هاي این سه تن است. نویسنده، شخصيت‌هاي واقعي تاريخ فرانسه و شخصيت‌هاي ساخته خيال خود را با هم در آمیخته و ماجراهایی جالب و هیجان‌انگیزی را خلق کرده است. استقبال از این رمان چنان بود که دوما تصمیم به نگارش قسمت بعدی رمان گرفت و آن را در سال ١٨٤٥ با عنوان «بیست سال بعد» منتشر کرد. «سه تفنگدار» را انتشارات هرمس منتشر و عرضه کرده است

Alexandre Dumas père, born Alexandre Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie, was a towering figure of 19th-century French literature whose historical novels and adventure tales earned global renown. Best known for The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, and other swashbuckling epics, Dumas crafted stories filled with daring heroes, dramatic twists, and vivid historical backdrops. His works, often serialized and immensely popular with the public, helped shape the modern adventure genre and remain enduring staples of world literature.
Dumas was the son of Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, a celebrated general in Revolutionary France and the highest-ranking man of African descent in a European army at the time. His father’s early death left the family in poverty, but Dumas’s upbringing was nonetheless marked by strong personal ambition and a deep admiration for his father’s achievements. He moved to Paris as a young man and began his literary career writing for the theatre, quickly rising to prominence in the Romantic movement with successful plays like Henri III et sa cour and Antony.
In the 1840s, Dumas turned increasingly toward prose fiction, particularly serialized novels, which reached vast audiences through French newspapers. His collaboration with Auguste Maquet, a skilled plotter and historian, proved fruitful. While Maquet drafted outlines and conducted research, Dumas infused the narratives with flair, dialogue, and color. The result was a string of literary triumphs, including The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo, both published in 1844. These novels exemplified Dumas’s flair for suspenseful pacing, memorable characters, and grand themes of justice, loyalty, and revenge.
The D’Artagnan Romances—The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, and The Vicomte of Bragelonne—cemented his fame. They follow the adventures of the titular Gascon hero and his comrades Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, blending historical fact and fiction into richly imagined narratives. The Count of Monte Cristo offered a darker, more introspective tale of betrayal and retribution, with intricate plotting and a deeply philosophical core.
Dumas was also active in journalism and theater. He founded the Théâtre Historique in Paris, which staged dramatizations of his own novels. A prolific and energetic writer, he is estimated to have written or co-written over 100,000 pages of fiction, plays, memoirs, travel books, and essays. He also had a strong interest in food and published a massive culinary encyclopedia, Le Grand Dictionnaire de cuisine, filled with recipes, anecdotes, and reflections on gastronomy.
Despite his enormous success, Dumas was frequently plagued by financial troubles. He led a lavish lifestyle, building the ornate Château de Monte-Cristo near Paris, employing large staffs, and supporting many friends and relatives. His generosity and appetite for life often outpaced his income, leading to mounting debts. Still, his creative drive rarely waned.
Dumas’s mixed-race background was a source of both pride and tension in his life. He was outspoken about his heritage and used his platform to address race and injustice. In his novel Georges, he explored issues of colonialism and identity through a Creole protagonist. Though he encountered racism, he refused to be silenced, famously replying to a racial insult by pointing to his ancestry and achievements with dignity and wit.
Later in life, Dumas continued writing and traveling, spending time in Belgium, Italy, and Russia. He supported nationalist causes, particularly Italian unification, and even founded a newspaper to advocate for Giuseppe Garibaldi. کتاب خیلی خوبی است اما ایراد بزرگی که دارد ترجمه فارسی آن است.
ترجمه ای که توسط انتشارات هرمس منتشر شده یک ترجمه بسیار قدیمی است که با فارسی امروز خیلی مطابقت ندارد.
ترجمه ذبیح الله منصوری ترجمه بهتری است که متاسفانه معلوم نیست چقدر حاصل فکر مترجم بوده است!

شنیدم دوما وقتی کتاب اول یعنی سه تنفگدار رو نوشت با استقبال فراوانی روبه‌رو شد به همین علت یک سال بعد جلد دوم به نام بیست سال بعد را نوشت که اگر اجازه دهید می‌خواهم بگویم کاش این کار را نمی‌کرد چون جلد اول در جای درستی تمام شد .
داستان بسیار سرگرم کننده و خواندی است ولی زیر ضرباهنگ تند وقایع هدف و پیام ها ، حرکات ، گذشت ها ، دوستی ها گم میشه و ما فرصت تامل نداریم .. و داستان جایی تمام میشد که انگار هدف تیک زدن برای به پایان رسیدن بوده و نه اینکه یک پایان که در خاطره‌ها بماند ...
ترجمه به شدت سخت خوان چون در سال فکر می‌کنم ۱۳۰۶ انجام شده و متن روان نیست و نیاز به ترجمه تازه دارد .
شخصیت آتوس و منشِ او بسیار برام شیرین و خواندی بود و سرسختی دارتانیان جاه‌طلبی‌اش، خامی‌اش، و در عین حال سرسختی‌اش همه با هم جمع می‌شوند و او را از یک جوان بی‌تجربه به کسی تبدیل می‌کنند که می‌داند دنیا چطور کار می‌کند...

سه تفنگدار (به فرانسه: Les Trois Mousquetaires) رمانی است اثر نویسنده فرانسوی الکساندر دوما. این رمان قهرمانی‌ها و دلاوری‌های سه تن از تفنگداران لویی سیزدهم به نام‌های آتوس، پورتوس، آرامیس و همچنین جوانی دلیر و باهوش به نام دارتانیان که بعداً در طول داستان عضو تفنگداران سلطنتی می‌شود را روایت می‌کند. این چهار نفر با هم پیمان دوستی بستند و در همه مهالک و مخاطرات با یکدیگر بودند. الکساندر دوما در این رمان اشخاص، زندگی و تاریخ قسمتی کوچک از تاریخ فرانسه را با مهارتی ویژه به خوانندگان نشان می‌دهد.

نکته‌ای دربارهٔ ترجمه

البته باید توجه کنیم که آشنایی محمد طاهر میرزا قاجار با زبان فرانسه کتابی بوده‌است و در ترجمه کتاب اشتباهاتی هم به چشم می‌خورد. به‌عنوان نمونه، در فصل سی و پنجم آتوز در بارهٔ انگشتر یاقوت می‌گوید که مادربزرگش انگشتر را به مادرش و مادرش آن را به وی داده ولی در فصل سی و هشتم آتوز در بارهٔ همان انگشتر می‌گوید انگشتر را پدرش به مبلغی خریده و شب عروسی به مادرش هدیه داده‌است. نکتهٔ دیگر دربارهٔ ترجمهٔ این کتاب این‌که نام‌های قهرمانان با نام‌های امروزی متفاوت است

بیشترین ارزش کتاب جنبه تاریخی کتاب است تا ادبی.

شانزده ساله بودم که کتاب را خواندم. ابتدا با ترجمه نمیتونستم ارتباط بگیرم اما به مرور به قلم مترجم عادت کردم. ترجمه خیلی روان و گیرا بود. داستان پر دلاوری ها و اتفاقات حماسی هست.
