Escapism in the form of a pulp western felt like something fresh and completely outside my normal reading. The page-turning aspect is really fun, it packs way more action than you can possibly imagine. The only thing less than savory is the western components regarding gender and race are beyond salvaging. If you were to adapt it into a movie (it could be a fun one) you'd have to overhaul many elements that haven't aged well. I bought this book at a cool vintage bookstore in Scottsdale, AZ over 5 years ago and finally made my list just this year - it helps it's short and I'm trying to catch back up to the goodreads challenge!
