A quick look at 18 dog breeds. Each entry is narrated by a dog of that breed, and it goes for a lively tone but falls a little short, so it still just feels like reading an encyclopedia. Each dog goes through the same points, so it gets very repetitive and is probably best read in little doses.

This is a good, cute book about how to think like a dog. It's not very long, only 48 pages, and it doesn't include all the dog breeds: only the most popular ones. It's not a complete guide on exactly how to care for each breed of dog, but it's a basic guide. It's really good and does help you think like a dog. I recommend it for grades 2-5 who want to learn how to think like a dog and get a basic guide on how to care for dogs.
This is actually really comprehensive in going over the different species of dogs, what environments they thrive in and whether or not they'd be suitable for a family. While it is officially a Nintendogs book, this isn't about the video game - just dogs in real life.
This book is actually quite dense. If the kid is a dog fanatic, this is the book for them. But if not, there is going to be a lot of superfluous information.
